I know the lower market segments aren’t traveling as much in this economy, but I have some advice for even middle income travelers.

Make sure you have the financial resources to handle getting stuck somewhere for extra time if something should happen. It’s becoming increasingly common for us to hear about clients getting stuck places for all sorts of reasons from weather to war.

As some of you may have heard, my mechanic’s(Bini) rented shop burned down this week. It was the same shop I got my start at as a taxi driver renting from the guys who own the building.

He lost everything including 12-14 years of tools. He is a community treasure serving his immigrant community and drivers for hire at rates far less than he should be charging. Nights, weekends, holidays, he’s there for folks. He’s answered my calls in the middle of the night many times, did an engine for me once ON Christmas Day, and often has refused payment from folks for stuff because he knows they can’t afford or because that’s how he is. Now he needs us.

He likes to share sayings from his culture(Ethiopian). One is that 50 lemons is a burden for one person to carry. But if 50 people each carry a lemon? Then there’s is no burden. Or something to that effect. Let’s all chip in a 🍋❤️.
