SHOW US YOUR CENTS!!!!!
I teach 8th/9th grade religious school Sunday mornings, and we are in the midst of our curriculum on "The Holocaust." As part of this curriculum, our children have decided to embark on a collection project, collecting PENNIES, which will be donated as Tzedakah (charitable giving). The idea is to collect as many pennies as possible over the school-year, in order to get some idea of what 6,000,000 looks like (~6,000,000 Jews died in the Holocaust). We don't anticipate collecting six million pennies, but however many we collect will give some relative idea to what six million really means. So...would you like to be part of the project? If so, please feel free to send your pennies to my attention (with a note inside that says "Show Us Your Cents") at 10263 Gandy Blvd. N., #2012, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. If you would like private email follow-ups, include your email address too. Share this project with as many people as you like. Share with your friends. Share by hosting a "Penny-Party." Share with your employer. Share with your religious organization. Share with anyone and everyone. Do not feel obligated to participate, but if you feel like being part of the project then feel free to send what you like, today...next week...monthly...etc. Send ten pennies...Send 100 pennies...send 1,000 pennies every month...Send whatever you like, however often you like. We will be collecting for the entire school year, and will do a final count at the very end. We will surely post periodic pictures as well.
