Traveling the world with an adventurous spirit. So far, I've been to 6 continents and 27 countries.

Not every travel moment is a landmark. Sometimes it's just you, a boulder, and the ocean telling you to breathe. ✨

One of the biggest surprises for me about Halifax was how culturally diverse it felt.

I met Jayne while exploring the waterfront, and when I asked her name, I jokingly said, “No, your African name.” We both started laughing… and that’s when she told me Akema. Born in Kenya, but Jayne is the name she goes by.

Next thing I knew, I was standing there buying two rings from her. 😂

But honestly, that is what I love most about traveling. Sometimes you go for the views, the history, or the food… and end up leaving with random human connections and stories you never expected to have. ❤️

Travel is not always just about pretty views and good food.

Sometimes it is about standing in spaces that remind you how quickly hate, fear, racism, antisemitism, and xenophobia can become normalized if people stay silent.

One thing I appreciated about Halifax was how history was not hidden from the conversation. It was acknowledged, confronted, and preserved as a reminder.

Travel should expand perspectives, not just passports.

Just dropped my latest blog: Halifax Hijinks 🇨🇦⚓️

What started as a quick 2-hour escape from Philly turned into one of those trips that reminded me travel does not always need a packed itinerary to be memorable.

From exploring the Halifax waterfront, Public Gardens, and Citadel… to standing at Peggy’s Cove, the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial, and the Titanic grave site, this trip was the perfect mix of history, reflection, coastal views, and honestly… really good food.

I also included:
✈️ Hotel recommendations
🍽️ Food highlights
🌊 Day trip ideas
📍 My personal itinerary

My BFF has wanted to join one of my trips for years. Every time I invited her, life got in the way. When I suggested Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada), I don't know what changed — but flights and hotel were booked before I could blink. …

One thing that surprised me about Halifax? The murals. Around almost every corner there was art, color, and stories painted into the city. 🎨✨

Proof that we did more than walk around parks and historic sites this weekend. 😂🍹🍽️

Halifax, Nova Scota, Canada 🇨🇦

Built to protect Halifax from attack, the Citadel has watched over the city since the 1700s. Today it’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Nova Scotia… and yes, the views are worth the climb. 🏰✨

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦

Halifax gave me beautiful views and important reminders all in the same day. History feels different when you are standing in the places where it happened.
🌊

• Peggy’s Cove: A small fishing village founded in 1811 and now one of the most iconic spots in Nova Scotia, known for its lighthouse, rugged coastline, and powerful Atlantic waves. 🌊

• Swissair Flight 111 Memorial: Honors the 229 people who lost their lives when Swissair Flight 111 crashed off the coast of Nova Scotia on September 2, 1998. It remains one of Canada’s deadliest aviation disasters.

• Titanic Grave Site: Halifax became central to Titanic recovery efforts after the ship sank in 1912. Over 100 victims are buried at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, making it the largest Titanic burial site in the world. ⚓

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦

📍Public Gardens

Sometimes the best part of travel is not the landmarks. It’s the pause. ✨

History:
Opened in 1867, the same year Canada became a country, the Halifax Public Gardens is one of the few remaining Victorian gardens in North America. Over 150 years later, it’s still one of the most peaceful spots in the city. 🌿✨
