Good afternoon, friends!

Just thought I'd pop in here to say this... I have heard there are still roads that are covered in snow/ice in some places in the County, but the County Roads going from Salem to here are *almost* perfect (*I say "almost", as Wednesday [2 days ago] there were still a couple shady spots that still has "white" across the road, but otherwise good.)

I have had my driveway pushed off down to gravel for days now... Yes, it's still a single lane in most places, and, YES, there still are large "piles" of snow "wind rowed" on either side of the road, which, when people run into them with their tires, it knocks a bunch of snow back into the roadway & gets packed down; so I have to go down & re-scrape it whenever I know someone's done that... but, otherwise, my road is just fine for even 2wd vehicles now.

A WORD OF CAUTION (shouldn't have to even say this, as it's "common sense", but I'm going to anyway): It's still well below freezing... and dropping in the single digits at night...so, anything that the sun melts during the daylight RE-FREEZES to BLACK ICE during the night! Just because any roads were good "yesterday", ALWAYS USE CAUTION!! Slow down! LOL

Good afternoon!

I saw posted on Washington County's Road Conditions page that the Travel advisory was updated to "orange" today.... and I saw it posted somewhere else that someone was saying they heard all the County Roads had at least one lane plowed... (just repeating what I read; please call the County Highway Department if you want to know for sure.)

I can tell you that my driveway is plowed to one lane; I would still recommend a 4-wheel drive, or an All-wheel drive, vehicle, but we did have a customer come up today in a 2wd truck WITH TIRE CHAINS, and he had no problem!

Again, if you are driving a 2wd vehicle, and you make in to the bottom of my driveway before this snow melts somewhat, please call us; one of us will come down & get you.

Road update:

It looks like the County Plow truck has been past our driveway at the bottom...but it still looked very packed with snow. Hopefully with the sun out, it'll melt some of this off today... we'll see...

We have our driveway pushed off to BARELY A SINGLE LANE (with a few spots to pass on the hill) ... As the snow is too deep to get it to push off & make the driveway a wider lane in short order... As this is the case, if one drives too fast on the driveway, & gets sucked into the 2' (2 foot) deep (or more in some spots) edges of piled snow on the sides the driveway, they will get very stuck. Because of this, IF someone has an emergency & needs to come up, I am recommending only four-wheel drive vehicles at this time.
If you have an emergency, but DO NOT have a 4wd vehicle, IF you can even make it to the bottom of my driveway, PLEASE CALL ME, and I'll come GET YOU at the bottom of my driveway by the County road.. PLEASE DO NOT try to come up & make my driveway un-passable by getting your 2wd vehicle stuck on my driveway!! (Thank you!)

I will always advise to abide by our local Government's (Sheriff's Department & Highway department's) advisories on travel (Let's NOT make their job's harder by traveling & potentially getting stuck when we don't have too! LOL!

I am here at the Shop if someone does have an emergency.

Good morning!
There is has been a Travel Advisory issued by our Local & State Governments & Police Departments because of this Winter Storm that we got over the weekend.... I know snowfall differs a lot in different areas: but we have about a foot and a half, or so. PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROADS UNLESS YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY (As the Travel Advisories say)!

(In my humble opinion, Unless it's a "life or death" emergency, It's not worth getting stuck in a snowdrift for hours [or days] in 4 degree weather waiting on road crews to eventually clear out to where you are stuck / crashed ... Please just stay home if you can!)

I am slowly trying to push the snow off my driveway.... it'll probably take most of the day... I WILL POST HERE AGAIN WHEN MY ROAD, and the County Road at the bottom of my driveway, have been cleared enough for Safe Travel....

Good Day!

We have been CLOSED since yesterday for counting Inventory & hopefully a few days off between Christmas & New Years! I put all the "reminder" signs up around the shop weeks ago, we've been reminding people in store for weeks as well; I put the big signs up and changed the answering machine messages Sunday evening, but I FORGOT to post something in Facebook about it!

LOL!!

SO, we are closed from December 22nd (Monday [yesterday]) all the way through New Years Day (January 1st)! We will re-open Friday, January 2nd!

Please note: If you have an emergency, it would be best to message me on Facebook Messenger, as then, no matter where I am, I'll be able to see a notification & see if I can help ya... (as if you call & leave me a message on an answering machine, I'd have to go to my shop to listen to it! After inventory, I'm planning on trying to STAY AWAY from my shop for a few days! ;-) lol!)

Looks like our original phone number (the 812-883-3522 one) is NOT WORKING CORRECTLY again!

Our VoIP one (812-220-2851) is working fine!

Hello, all!

We have had page-sized reminders posted here in the shop for a couple months, and it has been on our "yearly holiday closings" signs & hand-outs all year, plus on my answering machine, plus, on my website (that is listed on my Facebook info page), but didn't think to post in on here until now...

WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR OUR SUMMER VACATION ALL NEXT WEEK!
We'll be closing as normal Saturday the 16th at noon, and will not re-open until Monday, August 25th!!
(We'll be closed the whole week of the 18th through the 23rd)

Good day!

Well, I have done it again.... 😕... we have been too busy for me to remember to REMIND everyone here on Facebook that our Annual Spring Vacation is UPON US already!!

So, we're closed now for our Annual Spring Vacation ... we'll reopen Monday, April 14th ...

I usually try to remember to post something on here to remind everyone who hasn't been up for a while & seen the notices we have around the shop & on the outside by the door (not counting the posted "Yearly Holiday Closings" we always have up, plus they are always posted on our website (danddsaws.com).... But I didn't get anything posted beforehand on this one this time!
