About Us
The Bluebonnet Carriage Company was founded in 2005 by Kevin Dodd as a special event company. Today they’re an industry leader, providing premium-quality service in the city and beyond. The quality of the organization and their commitment to excellence speaks for itself as they surpass all others in professionalism, tourism, and customer service. You can expect to see horses from the Bluebonnet Carriage Company dressed to the nines and carriages ornately decorated every weekend, but it is more than looks that set them apart. Only the best drivers find themselves holding the reigns – polite and professional people who represent the City of San Antonio in the best fashion possible. Born in Charleston, South Carolina in the early 70’s, John Evans Jr., is a military veteran with over twenty combined years of service. He holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Training as well as certifications for Personal Fitness Training and Exercise Therapy. He and his partner, Kevin Dodd, have two children; Dylan and Kaitlyn.

“We depend on each other like a family, which is something that cannot be bought; it is created. I am truly blessed to have these men and women on the Bluebonnet team.” —John Evans

On Thursday the City Council plans to vote on a proposal to phase out horse drawn carriages. We are asking for all our supporters to come out and help give one last plea to show that we want Horses in San Antonio! CALL TO ACTION THIS THURSDAY Dec 12 @ 8:45am at the municipal plaza building. You can sign up to speak online at the link below.

There has been a lot of speculation and false truths given by council with talk of compromise and transition. However the reality for the companies is there has been no discussion one driven plan to abolish tradition of horses in San Antonio. We have asked to come to the table to work out solutions and make changes but have been met with closed doors and unanswered emails by many. Which unfortunately with their current “plan” will land these small business in bankruptcy.

We ask that you come and let your voice be heard with us!
