Everybody wants to talk about trucking being in their blood.
Nobody wants to talk about how low the standard has become.
The industry used to build drivers.
Now it manufactures seat fillers.
The standard has been lowered. The training has been lowered. The expectations have been lowered.
The truck thinks. The truck brakes. The truck warns. The truck corrects.
And somehow we're supposed to pretend the standard hasn't changed.
The grassroots of trucking have been trampled by corporations, automation, and an industry obsessed with filling trucks instead of developing professionals.
You can call it a lifestyle. You can call it a brotherhood. You can call it whatever makes you feel good.
But the truth is the standard that built this industry has been watered down so much that most wouldn't survive under the expectations that used to be normal.
That's the real conversation nobody wants to have.
