I started There She Goes SATX Tours after falling in love with San Antonio all over again as a certified professional tour guide.

Highlight of our Alamo Archaeology training class today was getting to hold the recently unearthed cannonball! The small but hefty bronze cannonball is fully intact & likely shot towards the Alamo church by the Mexican Army during the 12-day siege in 1836. Is there anything cooler than holding history in your hands?!

So happy to have been part of the record-breaking attendance at the pre-launch for ‘The Donkey Lady: A Graphic Parable’ at the World Heritage Center! Carmen Tafolla’s new interpretation of the legend of Donkey Lady Bridge of San Antonio, with Thelma Ortiz Muraida’s gorgeous artwork, gave us a chance to revisit this scary tale we learned as school kids in today’s context. Hubby and I kept talking about it after the event, so it’s definitely a conversation starter!

Our country is getting ready to celebrate but did you know that you can still find traces of the 1976 Bicentennial at Brackenridge Park? I recently learned about this sundial, that I have walked past several times over the years, built 50 years ago & surrounded by concrete artwork designed by San Antonio school children that year. Loved discovering this blast from the park’s past.

Now that the Alamo’s new Education Center is officially open and all the construction fences are permanently down, Teddy Roosevelt’s towering statue looks across at the Menger Bar once again! In 1898 he famously recruited men at the Menger saloon for his ‘Rough Riders’ cavalry regiment.

Did you know that San Antonio has its own Love Lock Bridge along Kallison Walk, just steps away from the county courthouse where couples get their marriage licenses and have weddings? This couple on a private tour was amazed by the sheer number of locks collected since 2012! Have YOU left a love lock here?! 🔐

This secret garden is coming back to life, with 70 new trees planted recently, planned improvements, & fundraising to make it a place for all San Antonians to enjoy. Can’t wait to see all the changes.

While leading a private tour downtown today my group took a fun detour into the Spurs Pop-Up Shop on Commerce! It’s not just a merch shop—it’s a wonderful temporary gallery of Spurs art from years past through 2026. An artful feast for the eyes. Now that our team has leveled up to the next round, you have at least another week or so to check out the shop!

If you’re a student, teacher, or parent on a field trip to the Alamo, you can’t miss the amazing LEGO diorama at the new Cavaliers Education Building. I’ve answered more questions from excited students at the LEGO exhibit than at any other spot at the Alamo! Field trip season is winding down with just about a week left of school, and I love seeing all the students having fun and learning.
