Ocean Odyssey is crewing up for 2026.
We’re hiring a 2nd Operator (100 Ton Master) who wants real time at the wheel, not just a title.
You’ll work directly under the captain, learning the boat inside and out, and proving you’re ready for more responsibility. This is a growth position with a clear path forward to the captains seat.
Requirements:
-100 Ton Master credential
-STCW
-Working knowledge of mechanical systems onboard
-Can assist with crew leadership and passenger management
-Drug-free, drama-free
-Shows initiative, handles problems, doesn’t wait to be told
-Physically able to lift/carry 50 pounds, climb ladders between decks.
We don’t need a night driver, we need someone who wants to become a leader. If that's you, we will train you.

Earlier this week we lost a great friend very suddenly. Terrence Berg, owner of 976-TUNA passed on Monday at the age of 52. He was Rick's hunting buddy in the off season and my sounding board, therapist, crypto advisor, and all around good friend during the season. Rick and I talked or texted with Terrence daily, he was family and is going to be greatly missed.~Dina

We had a very busy Day! NOT only did we have hundreds of children and their families come onboard Ocean Odyssey to check out the boat and Floating Lab, we had activities off the boat too.
The Floating Lab staff put on a short presentation on one of the stages and on another stage the Ocean Odyssey owners founders of San Diego Floating Lab received recognition for their work and mentorship over the years.
What a day...at the Docks! Until next year...

In honor of International Woman's Day, I would like to give props to the owners of Ocean Odyssey past and present, mother and daughter Sandy and Dina Grivetto. Sandy was a small, fierce, woman that dominated in a man's world. She passed the torch to her daughter Dina in 2010 and Dina and her very capable captain husband have kept the business thriving.
