🏡 CAN YOU SELL A HOME THAT’S IN PROBATE?

The short answer is YES! ✅

This is one of the most common questions I get, and the good news is that you can sell a home while it’s in probate!

But before putting the home on the market, you need to make sure the person handling the estate has legal permission to sell the property.

In California, the probate court provides paperwork confirming who is in charge of the estate and what authority they have to sell the home. Depending on the situation, the sale may also need the court’s approval.

The bottom line? A home in probate can be sold, but you need to understand the rules before getting started.
