We’re excited to highlight Risliana, our Business Development Representative at Hwy Haul.

A recent graduate from UC Berkeley with a background in data science, Risliana brings a fresh, analytical perspective to freight. She works across sales and marketing, helping connect with brokers and support growth initiatives across the business.

A few quick questions for Risliana:

What excites you most about freight right now?
What excites me most about freight right now is how complex it is compared to most industries. There’s so much variability across lanes, timing, and capacity, but a lot of the work is still manual. That gap creates a real opportunity for better systems, data, and automation to actually make a meaningful impact.

If you could automate one task in life with AI, what would it be?
"Honestly, everything. If it were up to me, I’d automate as much as possible. Even small things like getting up to grab the remote feel like too much sometimes."

Fun fact about you?
"I grew up between the Philippines and Bangladesh, so I’ve always been surrounded by different cultures, food, and ways of thinking."

Outside of work, Risliana enjoys:

We’re excited to highlight Matthew Thewlis, MSOL, our Director of Sales & Business Development at Hwy Haul.

Before joining Hwy Haul, Matthew spent four years at Truckstop, one of the core platforms the logistics industry runs on.

Now he is helping logistics teams discover how Hwy Haul’s cloud-based TMS and agentic AI can automate the freight lifecycle and make teams more efficient.

What excites you most about freight right now?
"Agentic AI is the frontier I’m most focused on, specifically how we can use it to make our work more impactful, not to replace the humans doing the work. I’m equally excited about partnering with other tech companies to push the whole industry forward. When you collaborate instead of compete, amazing things happen."

If you could automate one task in life with AI, what would it be?
"Household chores in a heartbeat. Trash days, dishes, laundry, the endless repetitive stuff."

Fun fact about you?
"I’ve never had a cup of coffee in my life and I don’t eat seafood. This seems to shock people more than anything else about me, which is kind of hilarious."

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys:
