The last full weekend in June, the downtown area is home to fun for the whole family! The festivities kick off on Friday evening, when we gather downtown for dinner on the street with foodtrucks moving into town, followed by the kickoff of the Lawnchair Music Series at the Gazebo, and the Firefighters Beverage and Food Tent! Saturday is the big day, with a handmade only craft show, citywide garage

sales, 5K run, free kids Touch-a-Truck, American Legion Motorcycle Poker Run, live music, food trucks, Truck show, Thumb Oplympics, horseshoe and cornhole tournaments, bed races, beverage tent, and a fireworks show at dusk. Sunday morning, fly or drive in to the pancake breakfast at the airport, and join the community church service at the gazebo!

Our Story

The Sandusky Thumb Festival is now in its 28th year! The last full weekend in June, the downtown area is home to fun for the whole family! The festivities kick off on Friday evening, when we gather downtown for dinner on the street, followed by the kickoff of the Lawnchair Music Series at the Gazebo, and the Firefighters Beverage and Food Tent has a lot of entertainment in store for you!

2019 brings two new events to Thumb Festival, a tribute to our Veterans with the unveiling ceremony of the new Veterans Memorial on the courthouse lawn, along with the Flags of Remembrance all weekend long. Tubbs Brothers is also adding a new event, Full Throttle Fest, with live music and more! Stay tuned for details. Saturday is the big day downtown, with a handmade only craft show, sidewalk sales, citywide garage sales, classic car show downtown, vendor show, food trucks “Eat on the Street”, horseshoe, beach volleyball on the street and co****le tournaments, beverage & entertainment tent, and a fireworks show at dusk. Elsewhere in town, you can get free ice cream from the Dairy Diplomats along with an antique tractor show and kids pedal pull at Tri-County Equipment, a 5K run, free kids activities, and more! Sunday morning, fly or drive in to the pancake breakfast at the airport, view the new Veterans Memorial and flags of remembrance on the Courthouse Lawn, join the community church service and stick around for the grand parade at 1 pm!
