As we celebrate 25 years of AJC Logistics, Omar Diaz, Senior Vice President, Commercial Sales & Marketing, AJC International , reflects on a moment that helped shape one of our strongest business segments.

While developing the produce business to Puerto Rico through the Jacksonville warehouse, the team had an opportunity to meet with a large customer that already had its own logistics operation. Earning that trust required more than a sales conversation. It required listening, understanding the customer’s needs, and showing the value AJC Logistics could bring to the table.

With industry expertise, creativity, and a commitment to service, the team earned the opportunity to move the cargo. That customer became one of the company’s largest produce logistics customers at the time, helping build a business segment that remains an important part of AJC Logistics today.

🚛 Get Ready for International Roadcheck 2026!

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has announced May 12-14 as the dates for this year’s high-visibility, high-volume inspection and enforcement event.

This 72-hour initiative will involve enforcement personnel across North America inspecting commercial motor vehicles and drivers for compliance with vehicle, cargo, and driver regulatory requirements.

This year’s International Roadcheck will focus on ELD tampering, falsification or manipulation, and cargo securement.

🔍 Inspectors will check:
• Driver qualifications and license status
• Record of duty status and ELD entries
• Medical examiner’s certificate and seat belt usage
• Cargo securement and load stability
• Brake systems, tires, lighting, steering, suspension, coupling devices, and other key vehicle components

Proper documentation, accurate records of duty status, and secure cargo are critical for compliance, operational efficiency, and roadway safety. Inaccurate or manipulated ELD records can lead to serious violations, while improper cargo securement can create hazards for drivers and other motorists.

These inspections may affect freight capacity and timing. We encourage our partners and carriers to plan ahead, review documentation, inspect equipment, and address potential issues before the inspection period begins.

While International Roadcheck may cause temporary service disruptions, it plays an important role in improving roadway safety, strengthening compliance, and upholding industry standards across North America.
