You were told to watch out for the snake charmers. You were warned about the monkeys. You are walking through the square guarded by the ‘tourist trap’.
What the guidebooks don’t tell you is Jemaa el-Fna isn’t a tourist trap. It is a 1,000 year old stage. This intensity? It would be exactly this loud and this alive even if you were not here. The moment you embrace the hustle is the moment you finally experience the magic.

Come to the Sahara with us!
One of the most memorable parts of our journey together is the Sahara desert.
Day 4 looks a little like this…
golden dunes, quiet mornings, and a beautiful night under the stars.

Tucked deep in the Ziz Valley is this beautiful little oasis — a palm-filled village untouched by tourists. We’re welcomed with warm meals and Moroccan hospitality.
This is the point in our journey when everyone settles in, breathes, and truly falls for Morocco.
It’s a meaningful stay with a local family who offers weaving and cooking classes, walks through the farms, and a real connection to the land.
Most visitors drive from Fes straight to Merzouga, not realizing what they’re missing…
But on our trips, it’s never about rushing. It’s about the moments, the people, and the experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

We were on our way to the Sahara Desert.
First we drove through Ifrane (Little Switzerland) → then the cedar forest with Barbary apes → and that night we stayed in a palm oasis, the kind of stop where no one ever wanted to leave✨

Day 2 Fez:
Fes is a medieval city and one of the world’s largest car-free urban areas. It has 9,000 streets and 40,000 dead ends.
It is famous for its ancient medina, the Chouara Tannery, and the University of al-Qarawiyyin, which is the world’s oldest school and was founded by a woman.

Rabat is our favorite introduction to the country — calm, coastal, and the perfect landing spot before we head to Fes tomorrow.

Celebrating the enduring friendship between Morocco and the United States 🇲🇦🇺🇸 During Jimmy Carter's presidency, our two nations strengthened their bonds through cooperation in economic, military, and political affairs. The Green March of 1975 was a significant event that showcased Morocco's peaceful pursuit of its territorial integrity. The US recognized Morocco's sovereignty over the Western Sahara in 1979, highlighting the mutual respect between our countries.

Economic ties were also reinforced with the signing of a bilateral investment treaty in 1977 and an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation in 1978. The US provided valuable economic assistance to Morocco during this period, with a focus on agricultural development and rural infrastructure.

In terms of military cooperation, the two nations signed a military agreement in 1978 that provided for US military assistance, including the sale of military equipment and training for Moroccan military personnel.

Our shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law have formed the foundation of our relationship. Although we have faced occasional disagreements, Morocco has been a reliable partner for the US in North Africa.

Here's to celebrating our enduring friendship and looking forward to continued cooperation between our two great nations.
