Alpha Z started off as a small runabout project and morphed into a hi-performance work of art, gradually becoming a flagship project for MPYD and Van Dam Custom Boats. Designed without practical limitations and made real in wood as only Van Dam can, Alpha Z was launched in 1998 and has graced wooden boat meccas like Tahoe & Monaco since.

She is the epitome of custom; from the hull planked in Steinway mahogany to the machined aluminum rudder, the frameless windshield, heat-molded Dooney & Bourke leather seats, down to the disappearing deck hardware. Literally everything you see was made specially for this boat.

Not just a pretty face, Alpha Z tops out around 95 mph with a custom Keith-Eickert V8 powerplant turning an Italian BPM surface drive coupled to an Arneson chainbox. Nothing but the best the 1990’s had to offer.

Designed by MPYD, Hodgdon Yachts recently launched an 11.4m aft helm superyacht limousine tender. The layout includes guest accommodations both inside and outside - featuring high quality cosmetic finishes along with custom fabricated stainless-steel hardware and upholstery. These characteristics demonstrate Hodgdon Yacht’s dedication to superb construction and attention to detail.

Designed by MPYD and delivered by Yachting Developments shipyard in 2018, Lanakai comes in at 39.5 meters and is the largest all carbon sportfish superyacht in the world. Reaching top speeds near 30 knots, Lanakai is Powered by twin MTU 4000 series engines, each with 3150 hp. The four-deck superyacht is the second Lanakai designed by MPYD and represents the crossroads of sport, technology and luxury.

A year after unveiling the V-series in 2019, MPYD and Valhalla Boatworks set out to design and build a new larger model – the Valhalla V-46. As the first hulls were being built, Mercury Marine approached the design team with a groundbreaking new outboard engine design – the 600hp V12 Verado. The V-46 powered by four new Varados was a perfect match for the MPYD patented SVVT hull – demonstrating excellent performance as a featured boat at Mercury’s unveiling press event at Lake X.

Designed by MPYD, the Eclipse 605 combines an elegantly styled classic exterior with the latest technology in propulsion and hull design. Measuring 60’ 8” in length and 16’ 9” in beam, the 605 features a 3 stateroom, 3 head below deck layout along with a spacious utility room. Unique features including a hull side balcony door and bow seating enhance the already expansive outdoor spaces onboard.

In 2021, MPYD helped design the MJM 42 - a high performance liveaboard cruising yacht. The enclosed pilothouse features opening forward, side, and aft windows - making the MJM 42 perfect for all weather conditions. Built in North Carolina, MJM boasts quality craftsmanship and advanced lightweight composite construction.

MPYD teamed up with Kadey-Krogen in 2017 to develop the Summit line, bringing modern yacht style & performance to classic, comfortable cruising. The Summit 54 is as accommodating as it is handsome, boasting all-day cruising at 20 knots and a top speed of 25+. Some features include a full-beam master & island queen VIP cabins w/ en-suite heads, and an open-air aft deck galley w/ bard. Capping it all off is seating & lounge space in the sun or shade at the bow or on the expansive flybridge. Stay tuned, two new models are in the works!

The V-29 Hybrid borrows elements from adjacent models in the V-series – trolling motor, power poles, and jackplates from the V-28 Bay and multiple forward seating from the V-33. The V-29 Hybrid embodies the V series pedigree with simple yet elegant design, meticulous fit and finish, and plenty of features and customizable options.

Designed by MPYD, the V-28 Bay is the smallest of the V Series fleet offered by . The patented SVVT hull paired with standard Dometic jackplates, as well as a large casting deck forward, creates the perfect platform for inshore fishing. The V-28 Bay embodies the V series pedigree with simple yet elegant design, meticulous fit and finish, and plenty of features and customizable options.
