Today, Sarasota Bradenton International Airport hosted a special 9/11 Tribute Breakfast commemorating 25 years since September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸
SRQ holds a unique place in the history of that day. After President George W. Bush learned of the attacks during his visit to Emma E. Booker Elementary School, he returned to SRQ, where Air Force One departed with the President aboard.
We were honored to hear firsthand reflections from Colonel Mark Tillman, who piloted Air Force One that day; Security Chief Will Chandler; and Booker Elementary School teacher Kay Daniels.
Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and reflect on a day that forever changed our nation. 🇺🇸
We will never forget.
