Congratulations to Whitley, William, and Weston! That is an incredible amount of hard work, grit, and dedication. Juggling multiple livestock shows, shooting sports, dual involvement in 4-H and FFA, and helping out friends is no small task—it takes pure passion (and a whole lot of early mornings and late nights).

The Custer County Fair is always a highlight of the summer, but this year was extra special. It was a week packed with long hours, fierce competition, and unforgettable memories, highlighting what true hard work looks like. From the shooting sports barn to the show ring, the dedication showed in every single event—and the sea of Purple and Blue ribbons proved it!

Whitley’s First 4-H Year:

Stepping into the 4-H world for the very first time can be intimidating, but Whitley took on the challenge like a seasoned pro! Taking on pigs, sheep, and a breeding heifer in year one is a massive commitment. We could not be prouder of the confidence, patience, and heart Whitley showed in learning the ropes and bringing those animals to peak condition for the ring. What a dynamic start to a great 4-H career!

William: The All-Around Contender
William proved what leadership, versatility, and sportsmanship are all about this week. He hit his mark in shooting sports with BB gun and Air pistol, showed remarkable versatility representing both 4-H and FFA showing sheep, and brought his best to the Heifer show ring. To top it off, William showed the true spirit of fair week by stepping up to help a friend show their goat. That’s what the agricultural community is all about.

Weston: Unstoppable Energy & Focus
Weston was a force to be reckoned with across the board! Demonstrating incredible discipline, he competed in both BB gun and Air pistol before switching gears to the livestock side. Weston tackled a full lineup in the ring, showing pigs, sheep, and breeding heifer. The effort, focus, and drive required to manage multiple species and shooting disciplines is top-tier, and Weston handled it with total determination.

A Week to Remember
Behind every purple and blue ribbon is a story of washed animals, endless feeding schedules, practiced showmanship, and sharp focus. The trophies and ribbons are great, but the memories made, life skills learned, and bond shared as a family are what truly last.
