Bob and Teresa are traveling on a 70’ yacht around the mitten and more! They used the Urtopia dealer locator and were able to acquire 2 new Carbon Joy e-bikes to utilize once on land. We even went on a bike ride together to get her better acquainted with her beautiful new ebike.

The state of Michigan has awarded Saugatuck Township nearly $2.5 million to acquire and develop a 119-acre property on the Kalamazoo River into what would be the township’s largest park.

The state budget for fiscal year 2027 that takes effect Oct. 1 includes $45 million in Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grants for 75 land acquisition and park development projects across the state.

Just more than $2.46 million was awarded to Saugatuck Township for the acquisition of 119 acres with 2,200 feet of frontage along the Kalamazoo River to build Riverside Park.

Riverside Park would be located off Riverside Road/130th Avenue, just east of I-196 and directly across the river from another Saugatuck Township park, River Bluff.

The site currently includes a pair of homes, some outbuildings and a cleared former orchard area, but it is otherwise wild space.
