Pocono Pony buses travel thousands of miles every week to keep Monroe County moving, but on Monday, Sept. 7, our entire fleet and team are taking a well-deserved breather for Labor Day.

Service Note: There will be no bus service (Fixed Route, Shared Ride, Flex, or PonyPlus) and our offices will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.

Normal service resumes Tuesday, Sept. 8. If you need to plan your trips or book Shared Ride travel ahead of time, visit gomcta.com or give us a ring at 570-839-6282.

We’ve proposed a Shared Ride fare adjustment to begin Oct. 1, 2026, and we’re taking comments through noon Sept. 24.

Whether you use Shared Ride yourself or have loved ones who rely on it to stay independent, we want to know what you think.

Discounted Student Fare: Ride any fixed route bus for just $1.30 per trip.

Automatic Fare Capping: Register your account to lock in savings. Your daily spending is capped at $2.60 (ride all day for free after your second trip) and weekly spending is capped at $13.

Pocono Pony is excited to join the Monroe County Office of Emergency Management-Monroe County, PA for its annual Public Safety Day on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Monroe County Public Safety Center, 100 Gypsum Road, Stroudsburg.

Understanding the Proposed Shared Ride Fare Adjustments (Made Simple!)

We know charts with lots of numbers can feel overwhelming, so here is a quick look of what the proposed Oct. 1 fare adjustment looks like for our riders in two mileage categories:

Senior Co-Pays (65+)
👉 Trips 0–4 miles: Moving from $1 to $1.50
👉 Trips 4–8 miles: Moving from $2 to $2.50

Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Co-Pays
👉 Trips 0–4 miles: Moving from $3 to $3.45
👉 Trips 4–8 miles: Moving from $3.45 to $3.90

These adjustments help us keep our Shared Ride running reliably across Monroe County, but we want to know how these changes might affect you.
