A driveway refresh that I completed today. The first picture shows the center ridge with weeds and grass throughout the driveway. The second picture is after making 3-4 passes with the rakinator attachment on my skid steer loader to remove the small gullies and ridges. And the third picture after applying a fresh layer of #53 stone to complete the grading and fresh clean look.

A recent culvert replacement and driveway entrance widening that I completed with help from my son Zach Backus.

The customer needed a wider driveway entrance for trailers entering and leaving the driveway. Upon inspection, we also found a concrete culvert running under the county road that the driveway culvert drained into. We removed the old steel culvert from the end of the driveway, and then installed a T section connecting new 40 feet of culverts under the driveway to the culvert running under the county road.

The driveway width was expanded from 25 feet to 40 feet wide, the new culvert was packed with the removed stone and dirt, and then covered with new #53 stone, and stabilized on the ends by placement of rip rap.

I’ve added a tandem truck to my business., and still have the single axle dump truck. I can now deliver 8 or 16 ton loads of crushed limestone, fill dirt, screened topsoil, mulch, river rock, and sand.

I still have the skid steer loader with 2 attachments for grading driveways.

I accept payment as cash, check, or credit card (3.99% fee added).

A recent job I did assisting an owner on Hanover beach to cleanup her lot from the recent flooding. I used the skidsteer loader to scrape a few inches of mud from the lot, fill in some low spots and then grade and level, and finally added some fresh #9 crushed limestone.

As we move into Spring, please remember that I also deliver fill dirt, screened topsoil (when weather conditions permit), pea gravel, sand, and bulk mulch.

A Sunday morning grading and reshaping to fix some ruts in a driveway after the substantial rain received to permit the folks to safely exit and enter their driveway without damaging their vehicle or getting stuck. The drive will need some fresh gravel when it dries out, but I was able to salvage some of the washed out gravel and what was still available to make the driveway safe to travel.

I appreciate all of our loyal repeat customers, referrals to their friends and families, and new customers. February turned out to be one of the busiest months that I’ve had since starting the business 3 years ago. Everyone was tired of muddy, sloppy driveways from the snow and rain that the area has received.

This is another before and after set of pictures from a driveway and parking area that I recently completed spreading the gravel with the truck and then a few minutes work with a rake to level out some high spots. The driveway on the left of the first picture hadn’t been graveled in several years. The pictures show the before and after for each section of the driveway and parking area.

Does your driveway need refreshed? Many driveways are quite sloppy from the recent rains and melting snow. I deliver 8 ton loads of gravel with my single axle dump truck.

Apologies for the poor quality of the pictures, I’ve apparently scuffed or cracked the camera lense on my phone. The customer asked that I track spread this lightly used farm lane. #53 gravel (1 inch and smaller stone mixed with lime dust) was spread in the tracks of the lane while not covering the center section of the lane. Less gravel is needed with this method of spreading. Some before and after pictures from each end of the driveway (view top to bottom, not left to right).
