About halfway through this Walthers kit. Fantastic kit overall. Taken some time to weather the interior service floors and mark where I have to dremel a recess in the benchwork for the diesel service pits. My yard scene is using all Micro Engineering code 70 rail, but I’m going to use code 83 inside this structure for clearance issues

Today, it is all about making backdrops. The difference a backdrops can make to the look and feel of your model railroad is huge. Given that this covers such a large area I had to be resourceful in my selection of material. I found that I had several 4’x 8’ thin plywood sheets that I also use for making fascia. Cutting the plywood to fit I mocked them up on the wall. After reassuring the panels were cut to size I applied a base layer of basic white semi-gloss paint. Towards the bottom I used a matte hunter green to simulate the continuation of my pine forest. After that I used 2x brand rattle can spray paint and added a light almost teal blue and sky blue paint to form the look of bright sky and scattered clouds
