The 5th Annual Aviation Day at Penn Valley Airport brought together aviation enthusiasts, families, pilots, local businesses, and community organizations for a celebration of flight, history, and community. From the arrival of the historic 1943 C-47 Skytrain "Placid Lassie" to aircraft displays, exhibits, scenic flights, and hands-on experiences, the day was filled with unforgettable moments.

Our recap video highlights some of the sights and sounds that made this year's event so special, featuring event footage, interviews with participants and organizers, and behind-the-scenes moments that showcase the passion and dedication of everyone involved.

How well do you know your clouds? Name that cloud! ⛅️

Did you know that it’s important for pilots to know the different types of clouds as they all produce something different. Cumulus versus Stratus can mean either a smooth or turbulent ride. Lenticular versus Cumulonimbus can be a free bug wash or severe weather.

One of the highlights of Aviation Day was the opportunity for visitors to experience the Susquehanna Valley from above with scenic flights provided by Valley Sky Tours, a valued partner based right here at Penn Valley Airport. ✈️

If you weren't able to take a flight during the event, the adventure doesn't have to end there. Valley Sky Tours offers customized scenic flight experiences throughout the year, giving you the chance to enjoy breathtaking views of the valley, local landmarks, and the beauty of central Pennsylvania from a whole new perspective. 🌎

We're grateful to have welcomed the team from Angel Flight East to our 5th Annual Aviation Day at Penn Valley Airport!

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to learn about Angel Flight East's incredible mission of providing free flights for children and adults traveling to essential medical care. Their dedicated volunteer pilots donate their time, aircraft, and resources to make a life-changing impact for those in need.

A special thank you to volunteer pilot Earl for helping make this event possible and for sharing the inspiring work of Angel Flight East with our community. We appreciate all who stopped by to learn more about how aviation can truly change lives. ❤️

Angel Flight East was proud to be part of the 5th Annual Aviation Day at Penn Valley Airport in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and families gathered to celebrate the joy of flight and all that general aviation brings to our communities. The event featured aircraft displays, aviation exhibits, and opportunities for visitors to learn more about the world of aviation.

AFE staff spent the day connecting with attendees and sharing how our volunteer pilots donate their time, aircraft, and resources to provide free flights to medical care for children and adults in need.

A special thank you to AFE volunteer pilot Earl, who helped organize this outstanding community event and is pictured proudly standing in front of his aircraft. Pilots like Earl help spread the spirit of aviation while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our passengers.

We watched her arrive, and we watched her depart, but the memories she left behind will last for years to come! ❤️

As Penn Valley Airport welcomed Placid Lassie from the Tunison Foundation during the 5th Annual Aviation Day, attendees had the rare opportunity to do more than simply see history, they were able to walk through it, touch it, and experience it up close.

From the moment she touched down until her departure the following day, Placid Lassie served as a powerful reminder of the aircraft, crews, and sacrifices that helped shape our nation's history. 🇺🇸

We are incredibly grateful to our event coordinators, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who helped turn this dream into a reality for our local residents and visitors. Thank you for helping bring living history to Selinsgrove and making this year's Aviation Day an unforgettable experience. ✈️
