According to the Sequim tourism and folks that enjoy living here, Sequim is surrounded by natural beauty and full of small-town charm. A popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and lavender lovers and is one of the driest places in western Washington. An active arts community, vibrant downtown, and diverse culinary options make Sequim the cultural and commercial heart of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley on the magnificent Olympic Peninsula. We are also home to the The Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) that traverses approximately 135 miles across the Olympic Peninsula, bordered by the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The ODT begins in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend and continues west to the Pacific Ocean. It is a wide, paved path for cyclists, hikers, runners, wheelchair users, and equestrians. (No motorized vehicles besides wheelchairs and mobility scooters.) Construction began in the 1990s. Completed sections currently total more than 70 miles, plus the 25-mile single-track Adventure Route section.
