RESIDENTIAL LOTS:
At the west-end of Sequim Valley Airport is an exciting new housing opportunity that broke ground in 2005. Discovery Trail Farm is a new neighborhood of 8 custom home sites with a private taxiway to runway 27-9. The home sites are located in the middle of 65 acres of farmland, 50 of which, will be placed in a conservation easement and remain farmland forever. The home sites have spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains and direct access to the Olympic Discovery Trail. All home sites have underground utilities including excellent spring water, septic, electric, phone and high speed internet. The roads and taxiways are paved to all home site locations. Aviation safety is our highest priority! OUR MISSION IS TO:
* Provide a high quality aviation facility and airport to serve Sequim and the North Olympic Peninsula.
* Enhance the airport with residential airpark development and limited additional commercial facilities.
* Provide development, which will center on maintaining open spaces and farmland. This development will be high quality. It will be focused on the spectacular views and natural beauty of the location.
* Plan development, which will be designed for protecting the long-term viability of the airport.
* Create a business environment that results in happy investors, customers, and neighbors.

NOTICE TO AIRMEN (NOTAM) & PILOT ADVISORY
Sequim Valley Airport (W28) Closure & Taxiway Construction Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Sequim Valley Airport has received a WSDOT grant to undertake a comprehensive upgrade of our airfield facilities. Lakeside Industries will reconstruct, pave, and paint both the East and West taxiways. We will also be installing newer, higher quality runway lighting to replace aging Infrastructure.

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE & CLOSURE DETAILS:
-Airport Closure Dates: Monday, September 28 through Monday, October 12, 2026.
-Runway & Ramp Status: Fully closed 24/7 starting Monday morning, September 28, as the runway
and main ramp will serve as staging areas for heavy excavation and paving equipment. The main runway and grass taxiways will be completely closed and there will be no flight operations permitted during this period.

ACCESS & SERVICES:
-Vehicles & Hangars: Vehicle access to the auto parking lot and T-hangars will remain open. Access to the south T-hangars may be routed around the north and east end as needed during construction.
-Fuel: Limited fuel sales will be available from the auto parking lot side.
-Tenant Recommendation: Pilots requiring aircraft access during the closure window are encouraged to temporarily relocate their aircraft to a neighboring airfield.

LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES SCHEDULE OF WORK:
-Friday, September 25: Equipment mobilization, installation of erosion controls, and temporary
construction entrance setup.
-Monday, September 28: Runway officially closes 24/7; heavy taxiway construction begins.
-Monday, October 12: Final cleanup, hydro-seeding, striping, and airport reopening.
*Schedules are subject to change and weather pending.

MANAGEMENT STATEMENT:
While we understand this may cause some temporary inconvenience for airport users, this scheduleis necessary to ensure the safety of pilots, engineering personnel, and construction crews, and to align with Lakeside’s paving availability during optimal early-fall weather conditions. We are excited about these significant facility improvements and deeply appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our tenants, customers, and the broader aviation community.

New Braniff Airlines B-727 on a Boeing test flight before delivery in 1973. This is over Sequim, WA and has special meaning as it’s over the future site of Sequim Valley Airport which my family started. My Dad, brother and I all flew this plane as pilots at Braniff in the 1980s.
