One of our favorite things to do at SHH this time of year and early summer is to stop by Myers Brothers Farm for fresh strawberries! The experience is awesome, the views are beautiful, and the berries are the best you’ll ever have 🍓

We will be open Wednesday, April 29th from 1:00 pM – 7:00 PM (or until we sell out) with pre-picked strawberries and pick-your-own strawberries!

Pricing:• Pre-picked: $20 per gallon Pick-your-own with your own container: $3.25 per pound. Please bring something to pick in if you are picking your own. only pick ripe strawberries and do not step over the rows, on the plastic or on the plants.

Last 24 hours in the Smokies!

We caught 2 more beautiful sunrises, a sunset, AND a moonrise right off the porch at …I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful moonrise in my life.

Our final day was spent shopping at the outlet mall, riding a mountain coaster (always on the kids’ “must-do” list), and playing more games at the kitchen table.

We got on the road home this morning at sunrise so that we could take Foothills Parkway for a scenic goodbye before stopping by University of Tennessee to see campus and for breakfast at Knoxville’s award-winning Scrambled Jake’s…we were told they have the most delicious cinnamon rolls and we all agreed that it was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Spring break 2026: explore nature, relax and reset, have fun with friends, and make memories. Mission accomplished!

I was relaxing in the hot tub when I noticed a bright light behind the mountains. Within a few minutes the moon began to rise above the mountains. 🌕🌄

Day 3 at started the same way as the others…coffee, journaling and a sunrise while the kids slept in. Perfection!

We kicked off the day celebrating a special 12 year old’s birthday, and then some of us headed out on a hike (we did part of Chimney Tops) before meeting the rest of our group in Gatlinburg for some touristy stuff…some kids did a ropes course while others mini golfed (and saw 2 bears just lounging on the course!!!).

We made sure to have dinner at Sloppy Hog, one of our fav places in Wears Valley, and enjoyed the rest of the evening playing cards, taking in the full moon, and relaxing.

The weather in the Smokies feels like a dream, memories are being made, and the adults and kids are definitely enjoying spring break in the Smokies. ❤️🐻

We spent our 2nd day at Cades Cove exploring and enjoying the gorgeous spring weather. We loved our picnic by the river where the kids of all ages had fun skipping rocks, playing in the water, and making boats out of leaves.

Starting and ending the day at watching the colors change during sunrise and sunset tops it off. The cardinal was also a special surprise during morning coffee.

1) take in the beautiful scenery
2) look for wildlife (we saw turkeys and bears!!!)
3) play in a river
4) take a walk or go on a hike
5) explore the old churches and cabins
6) take group photos
…and sometimes…
7) get stuck in a bear jam (IYKYK) which we did right as we entered the Cove 🐻🐻🐻

We always spend a day at Cades Cove when we visit the Smokies. Pack a lunch and arrive early if you don’t want to get stuck in traffic (or bear jams) during the high season.

On Mountain Time! Life feels different when you slow down. And to create memories with another family makes it even more special.

Our 1st day of Spring Break we spent hiking, relaxing by the river and in the hot tub, and playing games with the Smokies in the background. Starting the day watching the sunrise over the mountains with my coffee and journaling was the perfect way to kick it off.

Experiencing a sunrise over the Smoky Mountains is always magical. The colors, the sounds, the stillness. There’s peace, presence, and calm. Beginning today in this way reminded me of importance of “the pause”…intentional time to take in nature and the beauty of this world.
