It was amazing to watch over a dozen type-A pilots work as a team without having major arguments to move a 6,000+ pound 20 x 6 foot building about half a mile. Thanks to everyone that helped, whether it was from 7 am to dinner time or just for a few minutes. The fuel pump building is now leveled and firmly secured to its new concrete pad. The 10,000 gallon tank is scheduled to be delivered on June 4. ONCOR works on their own time but should install our meter this week.

We have half the concrete installed, the tank pad, the building pad and approach, and three aircraft tie down areas with two wheel pads and three in-ground tie downs eyes. Tomorrow work starts on the circle drive.

Changes at Hidden Valley Airpark, our 50+ year old underground fuel tank would no longer pass required inspections without extreme measures. So the existing tank was removed from and the lot that it was on was sold to finance moving the fuel building and pump to a new location with a new above ground tank just to the the west of the windsock which is west of the runway. The project is about one quarter complete with the concrete being poured for the tank pad and building pad occurring tomorrow.

AOPA is mourning the loss of a great aviator. Dick Rutan's life ended on May 3 in a hospital in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with his family and longtime friend Bill Whittle present.
