C***s established Shelby Flying Service in 1949. He managed the Shelby Airport from 1947 to 1988. He offered flight instruction from 1940 to 1988. He crop sprayed from 1948 to 1984. We began making Orange Nylon Airport Windsocks in December 1986. Airport Windsocks respond easily to wind changes. Orange Nylon Pack Cloth fabric is light weight, and remains flexible in either hot or cold temperatures

. Water repellent fabric is coated on one side using 0.75 ounce polyurethane. Ultraviolet inhibitor treated fabric resists fading. Some fading will occur because of sunlight (ultraviolet rays), moisture, and air pollution. Increasing temperature speeds up weathering. Seasonal climate changes and different locations can also increase or decrease weathering and useful life. Our United States sales show Orange Nylon Airport Windsocks last between one and two years. Most Airports replace their windsocks annually. Orange Nylon Airport Windsocks are made using quality materials and assembly. All seams are double stitched using nylon thread. Topstitched side seams give added strength and tear resistance. Throat and fly hems are reinforced using 1 inch (2.54 Centimeter) wide nylon webbing. Rolled rim brass grommets resist tearing and pulling out. A nylon lacing cord allows easy installing and removing Airport Windsocks. Orange Nylon Airport Windsocks are available in standard sizes: 18 inch diameter x 5 feet (0.46 Meter x 1.52 Meter); 18 inch x 8 feet (0.46 Meter x 2.44 Meter); 24 inch x 8 feet (0.61 Meter x 2.44 Meter); and 36 inch diameter x 12 feet (0.91 Meter x 3.66 Meter). The 36 inch diameter Airport Windsocks are available in two styles either tapered or 34 inch barrel throat.

I am having a special run of fabric made just for these windsocks. All seams are double stitched using nylon thread. The throat and fly hems are reinforced using 1" nylon webbing.
