City Hall is closed today, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. As always, feel free to utilize our drop box or online portal for any utility payment. Our website is always open and filled with information if you have any questions. We will resume normal hours tomorrow!

With a fresh school year in full swing we wanted to make another post about the ever popular E modes of transportation.

E-Motos specifically are not E-Bikes. They are illegal on roads unless registered as a motorcycle and ridden by a licensed motorcycle operator. They are allowed on private property. They must have lights same as required by a motorcycle. These are also not allowed on any sidewalk or bike path.

Reminder that you must be at least 15 years old on ANY class of E-Bike, and are not allowed passengers without proper factory equipment. E-Bikes are allowed on bike paths, but are not supposed to be on sidewalks.

2027 BUDGET WORK SESSION

The City Council will hold a Budget Work Session at City Hall to continue work on the City of Sherburn’s 2027 budget on Monday, August 31st at 5 pm. Council will continue discussing priorities, projects, and budget needs for 2027.

Public Notice: Tomorrow, Tuesday August 25th our contractor will be picking up seal coating loose material from recently sealed roads. Please be mindful of working crews. Also, please only drop accepted materials at the city dump site and our rural recycling area. Recent drops of furniture at the rural recycling area are prohibited. Remember we all use these sites daily and we don’t want our access to these sites restricted. Thank you and have a great night.

Just a friendly reminder that you can set up an appointment for a cellular meter install so that you can track your water usage monthly at a quicker rate and not have to wait for the end of the billing cycle. Reach us at City Hall Monday through Thursday 7am till 4pm and Friday from 7am till noon. Also, sign up for E-Billing (emailed bill and not mailed) and get $2.00 off monthly. Have a great weekend!

The City of Sherburn would like to let residents know that seal coating will be taking place on Thursday the 13th of August on designated city streets.

To help the project go smoothly and ensure the best possible results, please keep the following in mind:

🛑 Do not park on streets that are scheduled for seal coating. Vehicles left on the street may delay the project and could be subject to towing.

🚗 Avoid driving on freshly sealed roads until they have been reopened. Fresh seal coat is sticky and can track onto vehicles, driveways, sidewalks, and garage floors.

👣 Keep children, pets, bicycles, and pedestrians off freshly sealed pavement until it has fully cured.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important maintenance to help extend the life of our city streets. Thank you for helping us make this project a success!
