"I dived Bikini Atoll in June 2026 with Dirty Dozen Expeditions and, without question, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

I went into the trip calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience, but I very quickly realised there’s absolutely no way you can see those wrecks just once in your lifetime. I’ll be back.

The USS Saratoga in particular completely exceeded my expectations. You can read about the history, look at photographs and imagine what it will be like to finally descend onto her, but nothing really prepares you for the sheer scale of the wreck and the feeling of actually being there. It is genuinely spectacular.

I completed the expedition on my JJ-CCR and felt exceptionally safe and well supported throughout. Aron and the entire Dirty Dozen team are incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but what stood out to me most was how much they genuinely want you to have the best possible experience.

Nothing feels like too much trouble and the whole operation gives you complete confidence to simply concentrate on the diving and enjoy every minute of being somewhere so extraordinary.

Bikini Atoll takes some getting to, but that is all part of what makes it so special. The journey, the remoteness, the history and, of course, those wrecks make it an experience unlike anything else I’ve ever done.

I arrived thinking this would be the diving trip of a lifetime. I left knowing I need to do it again."

JILL HEINERTH IS RETURNING TO GALÁPAGOS IN 2028! 🦖

A couple of days into this year’s expedition, Jill Heinerth had already made up her mind.

“Can we pick some dates for 2028?” 😅

So it’s official. Jill is returning to the Real Jurassic Park with Dirty Dozen Expeditions, August 23–30, 2028, for another week in one of the most extraordinary diving destinations on the planet.

And this time, we’re opening the expedition to both CCR and Open Circuit divers.

The groups will operate from separate pangas, allowing CCR and OC divers to experience Galápagos the way they want — while still sharing the expedition together.

That means your buddy, partner, or spouse doesn’t need to be on a rebreather to join you.
