Pizza. Birthday cake. A houseplant. Antlers?! 👀

Yep…these are all items TSA allows through security.

🍕 Pizza: Solid food is allowed in carry-on and checked bags.
🎂 Cake: Allowed, but it may need additional screening.
🪴 Houseplant: Allowed through TSA, though destination and agricultural restrictions may apply.
🦌 Antlers: Allowed in carry-on and checked bags, subject to airline size requirements.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever traveled with?

Fly SUX. ✈️

Airline policies and destination restrictions may vary. When in doubt, check with TSA and your airline before traveling.

This weekend, we’re celebrating 79 years of the United States Air Force.

Established on September 18, 1947, the U.S. Air Force has spent nearly eight decades serving our country in the skies and beyond.

Here in Sioux City, that history has a local connection through the 185th Air Refueling Wing, whose members continue a long tradition of military aviation and service in our community.

As the Air Force anniversary weekend continues through Sunday, September 20, we recognize the generations of Airmen who have served, those serving today, and the families who support them.

Happy 79th Birthday, U.S. Air Force! 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember.

On July 19, 1989, United Airlines Flight 232 made an emergency landing at Sioux Gateway Airport, forever becoming part of Sioux City’s history.

Today, we honor the 112 lives lost, recognize the strength of the survivors, and express our deepest gratitude to the pilots, flight crew, first responders, medical teams, military personnel, volunteers, and countless community members whose courage and compassion shined through in an unimaginable moment.

Their actions continue to serve as a lasting example of resilience, teamwork, and humanity. Today, we remember. ❤️
