🇼đŸ‡č Just got back from France, and in TWO WEEKS, I'm off to Italy!

This time, I'll be exploring everything from the Amalfi Coast and Capri to Rome and the charming towns of Puglia!

I'll be traveling with colleagues, checking out hotels, discovering hidden gems, and bringing home plenty of firsthand knowledge and inspiration for my clients.

And obviously, eating all the pasta and gelato along the way! 😂

Now I'm curious
if you were planning your dream Italian vacation, would you choose the beautiful coastline, the historic cities, or the charming little villages?

Or are you like me and want to see it ALL?!
Can't wait to share this adventure with you!

48 hours in Paris was enough to make me realize one thing: you could come here over and over again and still never feel finished.

For our last day, our group split up to divide and conquer. My group took the classic hop-on hop-off Bus so we could see as many of the major sights as possible without spending the entire day figuring out transportation.

We people-watched at the Louvre, watched the river cruises make their way down the Seine, strolled the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es, visited the Arc de Triomphe, and tried to go inside Notre-Dame but they were preparing for the Pope’s visit the next day, so interior access was closed.

One of my favorite parts of the day was also one of the simplest: sitting on the lawn at Champ de Mars with a drink, looking at the Eiffel Tower and just relaxing for a little while. Very Parisian!

Lunch was classic French comfort food, chicken cordon bleu with views overlooking Notre-Dame, and somewhere in between all of that, I also confirmed that Paris traffic somehow makes NYC feel calm. 😅 Drive here? NEVER!

And after all of that? We still barely scratched the surface.

The history. The art. The museums. The neighborhoods. The food. The landmarks. The things we didn’t have time for.

Paris is not a “see it once and you’re done” city. It’s a “when are we coming back?” city.

And that’s before we even talk about everything you can experience just outside Paris. Tomorrow I’ll show you what the other half of our group did on their day trip
and it might make you want to add a few more days to your own Paris itinerary.

I came to Paris expecting the Eiffel Tower. I didn’t expect this!

Paris was one of those places where the day just kept getting better.

We left Lyon on an early train and spent the morning doing exactly what Paris makes you want to do, walk with nowhere urgent to be. Juliet balconies, beautiful doors, cafés spilling onto the sidewalks
even the ordinary buildings are gorgeous.

Lunch at a classic Parisian café, a stop at the Louvre, then an afternoon food and w**e tour because one of my favorite ways to experience a city is through what it eats.

But that night was the moment

A few of us went to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle, and where we ended up was an entire vibe! Local musicians, DJs, people singing and dancing, and then suddenly everything silent as the tower started to glitter.

Five minutes of everyone just staring up saying “ooooh” and “ahhhh.”

It was so magical we stayed to watch it twice. ✹

And that’s the part of travel I want my clients to experience. Not just seeing Paris, but having the kind of night that makes you think, “I need to come back here.”

This is the kind of day that makes Europe hard to come home from.

We started in Pérouges, a preserved medieval village where people still actually live among the cobblestone streets, stone houses and little cafés. It was so quiet and peaceful that it almost felt unreal, the kind of place where you stop looking at your phone and just wander.

Then back to Lyon for a food tour focused on the sweeter side of the city, local candy, pastries and the stories behind them.

Two completely different experiences, perfectly paired in one day! Quiet medieval village in the morning. Lyon sweets in the afternoon.

This is why I love a thoughtfully planned Europe itinerary. You don’t have to choose between history, scenery, food and culture. The right day can give you all of it.

And yes, I would absolutely build this exact kind of day into a client trip!

The best part of today wasn’t the destination, it was the stop we planned along the way.

On our way from Annecy to Lyon, our private transfer included a prearranged stop in Vienne. So instead of losing half the day in transit, we turned it into part of the trip.

We explored Roman ruins, wandered through town, saw a cathedral with unbelievable detail, and had a picnic overlooking the old amphitheater. I kept thinking how beautiful that setting would be for a small destination wedding.

Then it was back in the car to Lyon, where we ended the day in the hotel’s hydrotherapy spa.

This is one of those little planning details that can make a Europe itinerary feel so much more intentional.

Yesterday in Annecy felt straight out of a storybook.

The lake is really the heart of this town, so we started the day the best way possible, by bike. We rode through the city and out into the surrounding neighborhoods where Sunday morning looked exactly how you’d hope: families picnicking, kids playing soccer and tennis, friends having coffee, dogs everywhere, and people heading home with fresh bread and vegetables from the market.

Then we switched gears for a private walking tour through the old town. This is one of those places where having your own guide makes such a difference, you move at your pace, spend time on what actually interests you, and can ask the important questions
like where to find the best cheese.

Later, a boat ride gave us an entirely different view of the lake, mountains, vineyards and some very impressive homes.

And because the best days usually end around a table: fondue, local w**e from the vineyards we had just seen, and gelato.

This is my favorite way to experience Europe, a little sightseeing, a little local life, great food, and enough breathing room to actually enjoy where you are.

Yesterday we left Chamonix for Annecy, with a stop in Geneva, Switzerland along the way. 🇹🇭

Geneva was clean, beautiful and so easy to explore. Old streets, Swiss flags, luxury shopping, chocolate, Lake Geneva and even filling my water bottle straight from one of the city’s public fountains.

Would I make Geneva the whole trip? Probably not. But as a stop between Chamonix and Annecy? 100%.

That’s what I love about Europe, sometimes the stop in between becomes part of the experience.

French Alps → Switzerland → Annecy
 all in one day.

Chamonix, France đŸ‡«đŸ‡·

This is exactly why I love experiencing destinations firsthand.

Today I rode a gondola above the clouds, took the mountain train to see the remains of a glacier, and wandered through a town that somehow feels both dramatic and storybook-perfect.

What surprised me most about Chamonix is how many different kinds of travelers it works for. You can fill your days with hiking, skiing and paragliding, or slow everything down and just enjoy the mountain views, charming streets and incredible architecture.

Being here lets me see more than what looks good online. I get to understand how the area feels, how the experiences fit together, and which travelers I would actually recommend it to.
