Exciting day checking in on the next aircraft that could be joining the Tailwind Flight Solutions fleet as it moves through the pre-buy inspection.

So far, everything is looking very positive, and we’re excited about how the process is progressing.

A quality pre-buy is one of the most important steps in purchasing an aircraft. It’s not just about finding current squawks—it’s about understanding exactly what you’re buying, identifying major maintenance items that may be on the horizon, and making sure you’re paying a fair price for the airplane.

This weekend I reached a milestone that once seemed a long way off. Every hour has been a chance to learn, grow, and meet incredible people along the way.

I’m grateful to everyone who has trusted me as an instructor, contract pilot, and friend—and especially to my family for their unwavering support.

Here’s to continuing to learn, fly safely, and enjoy the journey.

Weather decision-making is all about staying flexible.

I launched on this flight thinking I could work my way around the weather to the east. After takeoff, though, it was clear the system was moving faster than expected, so it was time to reevaluate the plan. Fortunately, there was a safe opening behind the first area of heavy precipitation that allowed me to continue and complete the flight safely.

The plan is never more important than making the right decision.

A little weather dodging made for an awesome flight this morning. After working around a few thunderstorms, we were rewarded with incredible views of Mackinac Island, the Mackinac Bridge, and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron.
