In just a few months in Tennessee, “Christmas in the Cave” at the Cherokee Caverns gets underway...and you’ll only have nine days across three long weekends to experience it! The 2026 dates are December 4–6, 11–13, and 18–20. Once inside this Knoxville cave, you’ll follow an underground walkway surrounded by stalactites, stalagmites, natural rock formations, glowing holiday scenes, and thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. Kids can bring their Christmas lists for a visit with Santa, while the “mean one” waits in his cave lair for anyone brave enough to stop by. Cousin Ed will also be near the entrance for photos and a few laughs before you head underground. Local vendors offer handmade gifts and other Christmas finds, and food is available at The Grotto. Christmas in the Cave has been part of Cherokee Caverns’ special-event lineup since 2013, and the cavern is normally closed to daily public tours, making these weekends an extra-special chance to explore it. Tickets are $15 for ages 3 and up and are good for any event date. It’s one of Tennessee’s most unusual places to celebrate Christmas!
