Lake Ontario Boat N Float Powerboat Fun Run We are also planning a radar run in Lake Ontario after lunch. Anyone and everyone with a motorboat is welcome. MOST IMPORTANT. HAVE FUN!

August 22, 2015 (Saturday) MARK YOUR CALENDERS!

2015 Inaugural Lake Ontario Boat N Float is a powerboat fun run that will be starting in Sodus Bay, Ny and going to the river in Oswego, Ny for lunch. We will return to Sodus bay Saturday afternoon/ evening where the night life is very popular for anyone that wants to hang out. It is a free gathering of friends that like to have fun on their boats.

NO commitments, registration fees, prizes, money, bets or drama. Lake Ontario and surrounding bays is a very fun area with lots of restaurants, bars and activities that many upstate New Yorker Boaters take for granted. Tenative Schedule:
Times:
Saturday August 22
10:00 am meet in front of Sodus bay channel in the lake / Quick drivers meeting
10:15 first group leaves ( less than 60mph)
10:30 next group leaves ( less than 80 mph) depending on amount and speed of boats
10:45 next group leaves ( over 80 mph)
11:15 arrive in Oswego and tie up for lunch
Look at the boats, talk to friends and meet new ones
12:00 walk to your preference of restaurant for lunch

2:00 Radar Run TBD somewhere between port bay and sodus bay in the lake
3:30 Make our way back to sodus point to hang out at the sandbar and/or go to the “point” for drinks and dinner. This will depend on number of boats participating in radar run and other factors

The Office Tavern

Boaters can decide which side of the river to tie up to the wall and where to go eat. Safe Boating Suggestions:
*Highly recommend wearing life vests and kill switch tethers*
* Strongly suggest leaving the alcohol consumption for after the run, especially drivers *
* This is a very large lake, give each other room. There is no need to be jumping each others wake or running side by side close enough to grab the other boats cleat. This is also a big plus of running in a large lake, there should be a lot less cross waves*
* Look behind you before turning, changing direction or coming off plane. Raise your hands when coming off plane especially if its unexpected*
Be courteous and respectful when tying up. “If you only have 2 dirty fenders don’t tie up to a $100,000 Fountain with a custom paint job”
Always use your brain, think about it before doing it. IF for some reason the weather decides not to cooperate. We will make a decision the night before and post it on offshore only and the page. If we are forced to reschedule, it will be pushed to the following weekend .

2022 Lake Ontario Boat N Float is happening THIS weekend! Saturday September 10, 2022. This will be hosted as a ROPA event this year with the same “fun run” aspects of years past.

Regrettably this is very short notice but still hoping for a great turn out!

The run will begin at Sodus Bay light house in Lake Ontario and continue to the River of Oswego. Lunch will be your choice in Oswego. Then we will return to Sodus for a raft off and the sand bar.

Please NOTE the water is a little below average for this time of year. I would suggest any boat larger than 30’ launch at the state park in Little Sodus bay (Fairhaven) or Wrights landing (Oswego).

AS ALWAYS- safe boating is the main focus. Wear life jackets and tethers whenever on plane and no alcohol consumption until after the run is complete

-Please launch early. The few lunches in Sodus will be busy and takes extra time to park etc.
-The water is low. Follow someone that knows where they are going and stay away from shore
-plan on meeting in Lake Ontario in front of Sodus channel between 10:00-10:15 We will be leaving at 10:30 sharp.
-Alex’s on the Water is ready for us with a special menu and full bar. G.S. Steamers is open and ready as overflow lunch service
-We will plan to leave Oswego approximately 2 pm and run back to Sodus sandbar.

Thank you for coming out. Weather should be good!! A couple clouds aren’t gona hurt you. Wave forecast is 1’. See you in the morning!
