Gladstone Branch service remains suspended through the end of the day today. Morris and Essex is operating limited service between Summit and Penn Station New York. All other rail service will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Raritan Valley Line rail service is suspended in both directions between High Bridge and Annandale due to ongoing repairs to infrastructure following severe storms. NJ TRANSIT is helping customers get a head start on their Independence Day weekend and America’s 250th anniversary celebrations with "early getaway" rail and bus service on Thursday, July 2 to accommodate those leaving early for the holiday.

On July 3, NJ TRANSIT train service will operate on a regular weekend schedule. Bus service will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule. NJ TRANSIT Hudson Bergen Light Rail and RiverLINE service will operate on a regular weekday service. Newark Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule.

On Saturday, July 4, NJ TRANSIT services will operate on modified schedules in observance of Independence Day. Bus and Light Rail service will operate on modified schedules.

E-bike registration appointments are available starting June 26th at NJMVC Vehicle Centers, in accordance with a new law enacted in January 2026 (P.L.2025, c.285). How well do you know the rules of the road when it comes to driving, walking, and biking? Bernards Township, in partnership with RideWise, has launched a Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign and wants to hear from you. As part of the campaign, the Township is conducting a survey to learn how well the community understands pedestrian, bicycle, and driving safety laws. What a fantastic afternoon in Bound Brook! RideWise was thrilled to partner with the Bound Brook PTO and the Bound Brook Education Association for a fun, hands-on bike rodeo for local youth. Riders practiced important bike safety skills and enjoyed obstacle courses, safety lessons, and helmet fittings. The Bound Brook Education Association provided free helmets and bicycles to participants. Thank you to our partners and everyone who came out to make the event such a success!

Summer is here, schools are out, and more kids and families are out walking and biking in the community. June is National Safety Month and is a great reminder for drivers to slow down, stay alert, and give cyclists and pedestrians plenty of space. New Jersey’s Safe Passing Law requires drivers to leave at least 4 feet when passing bicyclists, pedestrians, and others on the road. #
