Educating on how to apply for Irish Citizenship by descent🍀 Hi, I’m Liz Long!

A traveler and blogger from the US, originally based in Massachusetts and currently location independent. I have spent the last 2 years traveling between the US and Europe. I want to make travel more accessible by testing out different methods on a budget. After 2 years of traveling in different ways, I am continuing to explore what travel style works for me and the other nomads that I’ve met on the go. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Language, and utilize it to curate my blog posts. I make video, photo, and blog content from all over the world.

It’s never too early to start planning next year’s travel. ✈️ Because let’s be real, timing is everything when it comes to travel.

I’ve visited almost every destination on this list during these exact months chasing the best weather, thin(ish) crowds, and undeniably great vibes. Here is exactly why these made the cut:

🇳🇿 Jan | New Zealand: Peak summer, post-holiday breather.
🇦🇼 Feb | Aruba: Flawless trade winds to cure the winter slump.
🇻🇳 Mar | Vietnam: The weather sweet spot + incredibly affordable.
🇳🇱 Apr | Netherlands: Tulips, tulips, tulips. 🌷
🇪🇸 May | Spain: Sun-drenched road trips before the intense summer heat.
🇮🇪 Jun | Ireland: Endless daylight and a rare break from the rain.
🇧🇬 Jul | Bulgaria: Stunning Black Sea beaches without the massive Euro-summer price tags.
🇬🇧 Aug | The UK: Your absolute best shot at a sunny, umbrella-free trip.
🇮🇩 Sep | Indonesia: Prime dry season for diving and jungle villas.
🇬🇷 Oct | Greece: The Aegean is still warm, but the heavy island crowds have left.
🇹🇭 Nov | Thailand: Monsoon season clears out for perfect island-hopping.
🌺 Dec | Hawaii: Big wave surf season kicks off on the North Shore.

This one is a little different from my usual posts, but if you’re writing a book, or you’ve ever wanted to, you might find it VERY useful.

I spent years working inside a small publishing company, where I screened queries, edited books, and ran all the marketing. I learned every single step of how to publish a book, and now I’m writing my own and sharing everything I know along the way.

If you’ve been saying you’ll write a book someday, start at the link in the comments

You don’t need to leap. You can dip your toe. 💧

When we feel stuck, our brains instantly jump to extreme solutions: quit the job, end the relationship, move across the world, or stay put forever. 🌀

That all-or-nothing mindset is usually what keeps us paralyized. 🛑

Designers figured out the solution a long time ago: lower the stakes by running micro-experiments. 🧪

A prototype isn’t a lifelong commitment. It is literally just gathering data so you can make a smarter choice. 📊

💬 Talk to someone: Find out what their average, boring Tuesday feels like.

✈️ Test the experience: Try a small 2-week test run before you commit to a 2-year move.

If you are currently debating a big life pivot, I wrote a full Substack essay breaking down how to run these low-risk experiments step-by-step. 📝

I used to think being mature meant keeping the door open to everyone you once loved. I hated the idea of cutting people off, and I blamed myself for having a soft spot for the past.

So when someone toxic from 5 years ago broke through the door and poured his heart out… I answered.

I’ll admit, part of me felt disappointed that I didn’t just choose silence. But looking back at the conversation, it reinforced something major: answering a text doesn’t mean falling back into old habits, and understanding someone’s perspective doesn’t mean giving them access to your life again.

I wrote about compassion, old love, boundary testing, and how to stay firmly planted in the present when the past creeps back in.

Nothing exposes how fragile your travel setup is like a canceled flight and a dead SIM card... 🫠

After 4 years of living out of a suitcase, I was so tired of juggling 6 different subscriptions just to handle basic travel friction… from 2FA bank texts to lost bags to finding a doctor abroad.

just launched The Ultra Plan by Holafly and it puts all of it into one monthly plan. You get:
✨ Unlimited eSIM data + hotspot tethering
📲 A US phone number so 2FA bank texts actually come through
✈️ Flight claims handled for you (you keep 100%) + luggage protection
🩺 24/7 doctor chat
🧠 Unlimited video sessions with the same psychologist, plus a nutritionist and personal trainer

Unlimited data, flight and luggage protection, 24/7 medical and mental health support, and more wherever you go.

Keep exploring. Ultra Plan is with you.

Use code LIZLONG for 10% off Holafly Plans for your first 12 months at the link in my bio! 🎟️
