🚤🌧️ A Journey on the Cape Fear River! 🌧️🚤

Yesterday’s historic rain and flooding tested everyone’s resilience, but our tour boat, the Sally Ann, rose to the occasion! Amidst the storm, the Sally Ann motored up the Cape Fear River to Wilmington to pick up the dedicated crew of the Duke Energy power plant. We made sure they got a smooth ride back to Southport, ensuring they could continue their crucial work into the evening.

A huge thank you to our incredible team for their quick response and unwavering commitment. At Southport Tours, we're proud to be a part of this community and ready to step up when needed. Stay safe and dry out there, everyone!

Labor Day Weekend 1971 — 51 years ago this swing bridge, which was the only way to get on and off of Oak Island, was destroyed by a barge. It was replaced by a pontoon bridge for 4 years while the new bridge was being built…..but for quite a while after the accident, the only access to and from the island was by water…..!
