ms of traffic among 55 general aviation airports in South Carolina, contributing $25 million to the local economy. With over 80,000 operations yearly, the airport creates 190 aviation-related jobs in the area with a payroll in excess of $5.2 million and serves over 60,000 visitors each year. As a reliever for GSP airport, our activity includes Emergency Medical Transportation, the Organ Transplant Program, Traffic Watch, Disaster Relief, Law Enforcement Aviation, Freight/Cargo, Special Construction Aviation, Search and Rescue (CAP), Geographical Mapping/Surveying, Wildlife Research and Monitoring, SC Forestry Commission, Military Aviation, Angel Flights, Agricultural Aviation, Flight Training, Sport Recruiters, Glider Operations, Political Aviation and Aerial Photography. A few additional services include hangar rentals, office space rentals, two flight schools, plane rentals and an on-site maintenance shop.

We’ve had an exciting day so far. We had Pilots To The Rescue on the ramp in their Kodiak. They are picking up 30 rescue dogs to transport them to their forever homes. Seuk’s Army and Best Friends Humane Society in Worth County met them here on the ramp. It’s really heartwarming the work these folks put in for these dogs!! Go check out their pages and see if there’s a way you can help them out.

Work is well underway on our new Hangars, X and Y! Hangar D is under the knife also getting a complete face lift to include new siding, insulation, led lighting, and epoxy coating for the floor. The final phase of the Taxiway A rehab project is also making great progress. If you’re planning a trip in to KSPA please READ NOTAMS. We’re currently enduring some nighttime runway closures to facilitate the taxiway work. Please note if you land Rwy 5 and roll out past A3 you will have to back taxi to A3 then C to the ramp. Please don’t let this scare you away from stopping in to see us, grab a crew car and go get a bite to eat while we top your tanks off. We look forward to seeing you on the ramp!!
