Overnight work on I-74 in Moline will begin Monday, Oct. 19, from the south end of the Mississippi River bridge to the intersection of 27th Street and U.S. 6. Work will start at 8 p.m. each night and conclude at 6 a.m. the following morning, through Friday, Oct. 23. Up to two lanes will be closed at a time during the project. They're on the move, so be ready on the road. Safe driving tips for deer mating season:

👉 Scan roadsides for glowing eyes.
👉 Slow down if you see a deer—others may follow.
👉 Be prepared for the unexpected. Deer can stop suddenly in the road.
👉 Buckle up. A seat belt is always your best defense in any crash.
👉 Don’t veer for deer! If a collision is unavoidable, try to glance your vehicle off the deer and avoid swerving into oncoming traffic or off the road.

Plan ahead, Madison County travelers! Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, eastbound I-55/70 will be reduced to one lane between Black Lane and Illinois 157 for pavement and structure repairs. The ramp from Illinois 157 to eastbound I-55/70 will also be closed. Both lanes and the ramp are expected to reopen by the end of the day on Friday, Oct. 23. More info: http://prez.ly/hbne

Exciting progress on the new I-64 Wabash River bridge in White County! The bridge is taking shape, with supports and steel in place and deck work underway. Thank you for your patience as we work toward a safer, stronger bridge—scheduled to open in November 2029.
