✨ Wanderlust Wednesday ✨
One of the many reasons I love the Sandals/Beaches brand is that it’s family‑owned and Jamaican-owned. Most of the team at their resorts are locals from Jamaica and the Caribbean. And the way this company shows up in hard moments really stands out.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, five of their eight Jamaica properties were technically ready to welcome guests soon after the storm, but executive chairman Adam Stewart chose to keep them closed until Dec. 6, giving staff space to care for their own people first. And even while the doors were closed, they continued receiving pay and benefits. That says a lot.
With those five resorts reopening in just a few days, it feels like the perfect time for a little tribute to one of our favorites: Beaches Negril. This is where we brought our girls for their very first Jamaica trip in 2018, and where we got to surprise them again in 2020 after a year that threw more curveballs than any of us expected.
Spectacular beach, unforgettable moments, and a team that makes the place shine even brighter — that’s the magic of it. If you know, you know: Jamaica doesn’t just get visited, it gets felt. And when you leave, you take a little piece of it with you.
One love 🤍🇯🇲☀️🌴
