Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) became one of the first municipally owned airport in the country in 1928. The Airport currently provides connections to more than 70 non-stop destinations on nine commercial airline carriers. STL operates more than 250 daily departurees per day in addition to cargo and general aviation traffic.In 2016, nearly 14 million passengers traveled through STL.

Corporal Stephen Joe Mayer, a St. Louis native and U.S. Marine killed in action during World War II during the battle for Tarawa, was finally brought home more than eight decades after his death in the Pacific.

As his flight arrived at STL, a water cannon salute honored a soldier whose story was never forgotten.

Starting this Monday, June 1, you can just hop on a plane 5 days a week for nonstop service to Germany.

Well… you should probably request time off and get a pet sitter and everything first before you just hop on the plane, but you get it.

Beli is a 2½-year-old German shorthaired pointer and a part of the STL Airport Police Department’s K9 Unit. When he’s off duty, you can usually find him chasing birds, chasing rabbits, or aggressively pursuing toys like it’s his full-time job.

If you see Beli and his handler, Officer Reginald Blanchard, around the airport, just know that he’s doing a very good job.
