What's happening around the South Shore this weekend? Plenty! And you can get there for FREE on Routes 50 and 55!

From classic cars and chili cook-offs to running events, live music and comedy, there's something happening Thursday through Sunday, October 15-18.

Here's what's on the calendar for Saturday and Sunday:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17
• South Shore Chili Cook Off at Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• South Tahoe Classic Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show at Heavenly Village
• Sidewalk Sound Waves with DJ Demo at Lake Tahoe AleWorX Stateline, 5 to 9 p.m.
• Drag Bingo at South Lake Brewing Company, doors at 6 p.m.
• Alex Ramon Magic Show at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18
• Lake Tahoe Marathon and Emerald Bay Half Marathon
• Free Kids' Pumpkin Fun Run at Lakeside Beach, starting at 10:30 a.m.
• Final day of the South Tahoe Classic Car Show at Heavenly Village
• Hum & Strum live music at American Legion Post 795, 4 p.m.
• Sidewalk Sound Waves with DJ Demo at Lake Tahoe AleWorX Stateline, 5 to 9 p.m.
• Lakeside Laughs Comedy Club at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, 8 p.m.

A little maintenance goes a long way.

The Secret Harbor/Cove parking lot recently received a refresh, including parking lot sealing, new striping and upgraded signage to improve the visitor experience and make the area safer and easier to navigate.

This work was completed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service - Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit as part of ongoing efforts to improve designated parking and protect the Tahoe Basin.

Please park in designated spaces, follow posted signs and help us keep Tahoe beautiful.
