WE ARE OPENING ON SEPT 5!!
The Ranch will be opening our cabins back up on 9/5, with dinners and kayak tours starting on 9/6. We are stoked to welcome everyone back for our favorite month!
NOTE: We will also be hosting a small firefighter camp at the Ranch to support them as they continue to ensure the fire remains contained away from the Stehekin Valley. Their camp will be contained on the down valley side of our driveway, leaving the main Ranch area as normal for our guests. But don’t worry - Maximus will be on patrol to keep them in line!

And….Stehekin’s Back! The entire Stehekin Valley is downgrading to a Level 1 evacuation notice as of 6pm tonight (8/22/2024). This means that visitors are welcome to come and stay. While the fire is not completely out, it is not currently threatening the Stehekin Valley, and the area has been deemed safe for the general public.
Local businesses are assessing how quickly they can pivot to reopen, and will be posting news about that in the coming days. The Bakery has remained open with modified hours and limited (but delicious) baked goods.
As for the Ferry, we have maintained our service throughout this fire event, and will continue to operate on our normal schedule. We hope to see you on the Lake soon!
Photo was taken arriving at the Stehekin Dock this afternoon. No smoke and a balmy 77 degrees.

What a difference a few hours can make! This is the same area the planes were scooping water this morning, but this video is on our return trip this afternoon. The smoke has cleared out, and the fire activity is minimal on this side of the ridge. They still had a couple helicopters on it as we went by.

Lots of action on the lake this morning. The video shows a couple planes scooping water in front of Moore Point to dump on the fire near Stehekin. There are also helicopters attacking a flare up (which is causing the hazy smoke, but we didn’t see open flames on the way by.)

We are still bringing residents in and out of Stehekin daily, as well as full service for the port of Lucerne/Holden.

It is amazing how different conditions can be daily. We are still seeing far more clear days than smoky ones. It was pretty clear through the straights and at Fields Point today.

There is no doubt the Pioneer Fire is close - you can see a bit of smoke behind the ridge as the Clipper pulled in yesterday - but I am still amazed at the beauty of this area even now. Blue skies and gorgeous. Let’s hope the rain shows up to keep it that way!

We are continuing to support the local traffic to and from Stehekin, as well as offering full service to Lucerne/Holden.

The Stehekin Clipper is still operating on its regular daily schedule within the following parameters:

To Lucerne/Holden Village - FULL SERVICE - all passengers are welcome. If you have been contemplating a visit to Holden, this is a great time to go!

To Stehekin - Residents or Fire Support only - due to a level 2 evacuation notice, we have been asked not to book passengers to this port who are not residents of Stehekin or fire support. We will of course start taking all passengers again as soon as the level 2 is lifted.
