If this season had a motto, it'd be simple:

Trial by fire.

My first workamping position.

New camper.

New truck.

New engine in that truck.

And a campground that feels less like a campground and more like a small city.

600+ sites.

A lake.

Aquapark.

Mini golf.

Pool.

Tiki bar.

Bar and grill.

Camp store.

Canoes.

Kayaks.

Thousands of guests.

Thousands of moving parts.

Most people have a job title.

I've got a collection.

During the week, I'm maintenance.

On the weekends, I'm security.

Sometimes I'm bartending.

Sometimes I'm handling problems nobody planned for.

Sometimes I'm just the guy willing to step up when something needs done.

Then I clock out and go build my own dreams.

Laser engraving.

3D printing.

Custom signs.

Liquor bottle lamps.

Memorial pieces.

Whatever challenge catches my attention next.

Some people spend their lives trying to avoid hard things.

This season seems determined to throw every hard thing it can find directly at me.

And honestly?

I'm okay with that.

Because every broken machine, every long shift, every emergency, every late night project, every new skill learned, every obstacle overcome adds another layer to the story.

Not a story about comfort.

A story about growth.

About becoming the kind of man who can walk into chaos and calmly ask:

"Alright... what needs done?"

And then get to work.

The world gets real quiet when you've put in the work.

No traffic. No deadlines. No noise.

Just a red moon hanging over Wisconsin and the satisfaction of knowing you earned your place beneath it.

A month ago I was over a thousand miles away.

Tonight I'm sitting lakeside, watching the sky burn orange, knowing every mile, every setback, every long day was worth it.

Not lost.

Not wandering.

Exactly where I'm supposed to be.

Memorial Day weekend.
Most people posted burgers and beer.
Meanwhile I clocked 40+ hours in a single weekend. 😎

This season already came out swinging.
Nearly full campground
Two ambulance calls.
A missing child.
One drunk idiot who learned the hard way the bar isn’t a gladiator arena after I physically removed him myself. 🤣😂🤣

And somehow… the campground still stands.
Signs stayed up. Fires stayed lit. Families kept camping. Kids kept laughing. The chaos got handled.

That’s the thing nobody tells you about this life:

Workamping isn’t “camping with a side hustle.”
It’s becoming the guy people look for when everything goes sideways.

Some people collect PTO.
Some of us collect stories that sound fake around a bonfire.

Forged by pressure.
Built by long days.
Held together with caffeine, grit, and probably mild sleep deprivation. 🔥

First Memorial Day weekend as a workamper?
Yeah… I’d say the season officially started.

05/24/2026

Most people treat Memorial Day weekend like a pause button.
Cold drinks. Lawn chairs. Excuses.

Meanwhile I’m one month into my first year workamping and just slammed a 15.5 hour day with another shift waiting in the chamber tomorrow. Already crossed 50+ hours this week 😎

Signs went up. Work got done. Hands wrecked. Boots dusty. Fire still burning.

Funny thing is… some people start crying when the clock hits 40 hours.
I’m over here treating exhaustion like fuel. 🛠️🔥

This road wasn’t built for comfort.
It was built for people willing to keep swinging long after everyone else sat down.

First workamping season.
First month in.
And the old wolf is still standing.

Some days on the road feel like postcards.
Some feel like building the next chapter bolt by bolt. ⚒️

Today was one of those days.

Signs going up.
Concrete finally showed up for the pool patch.
Dust on the boots, tools scattered everywhere, another long day turning work into progress.

Nobody really sees these days.
The hauling.
The setup.
The fixing.
The sweat that quietly holds places together.

But this is the part that matters.

Not every mile is mountains and sunsets.
Some miles are measured in rebar, concrete, sawdust, and sore shoulders.

Still moving forward.
Still building.
Still earning every inch of the road.

Most people see a campground.
I see another piece of the mission getting built by hand.

Cut rebar.
Drilled concrete.
Burned out a hammer drill pushing steel into a patch job that’ll outlast the excuses of softer men.

When the tool died, the work didn’t.

Switched gears.
Grabbed the w**d whacker.
Hung signs.
Prepped ten more.
Raised my flagpole and sent the black flag into the wind where it belongs.

Most people don’t understand the all black American flag.
That’s fine.

It isn’t meant for comfort.
It means no surrender.
No backing down.
No quitting when the day gets hard, the tools break, the weather turns, or life tries to grind you into dust.

Some people wear patriotism.
Some people live it.

05/08/2026

Some days don’t look legendary from the outside.
They look like sawdust in your boots, grease on your hands, and a couple cold drinks earned the hard way beside the hum of a laser carving memories into wood. 🍻🔥

Built more picnic tables today.
Picked up the rest of my tools and finally started making this place feel operational again.
Little by little, the rolling workshop comes alive.

Now the night shift begins.

The laser’s running a memorial piece for my sister’s dog while the campground settles into silence around me. Funny how this road turns rough hands into caretakers of memories. One minute I’m hauling lumber and chasing tools across town… the next I’m sitting under Wisconsin skies turning grief into something permanent.

That’s the thing about this life.
It isn’t polished.
It’s forged.

By long days.
By survival.
By loyalty.
By the people and animals we carry with us long after they’re gone.

Forged by Miles isn’t just travel anymore.
It’s building a life one hard-earned night at a time. 🐺🛠️🔥

Not every day out here is mountain passes and thunderstorms.
Some days are quieter.
A drill humming in the trees.
Boards scattered across the grass.
Coffee getting cold on a toolbox while another picnic table takes shape. 🪵⚒️

That’s the part people don’t post enough.
The building.
The fixing.
The turning of empty space into something families will sit around all summer long.

Forged by Miles wasn’t built in one big cinematic moment.
It’s been built piece by piece.
Board by board.
Storm by storm.
Mile by mile.

Today’s mission: relax a little, breathe a little, and leave this place better than I found it. 🌲🔥

05/05/2026

One month in.

New ground. New rhythm. New scars.

Got settled down by the lake… the kind of spot that reminds you why you chose this road in the first place. Quiet mornings. Water that doesn’t care about your problems. The kind of peace you earn, not inherit.

And then—life swung. AGAIN.

Truck went down. Hard.
Diagnosis? New engine.

Most people would call that bad luck.

But here’s the twist…

I don’t get buried. I get backed.

Warranty stepped in like a silent bodyguard and just covered a $5k hit like it was nothing. This is after the warranty on my rig stepped in and covered a $3k fridge and $3k furnace. 😎 That’s not luck. That’s preparation meeting reality.

Out here, you don’t just survive by grinding…
You survive by thinking ahead when things are calm, so you don’t drown when they’re not.

One month down in this new chapter, and it’s already tested the foundation.

Still standing. Still moving. Still building.

Forged by Miles isn’t about smooth roads.
It’s about the miles that try to break you… and the decisions that keep you unbreakable. 🔥

04/28/2026

There comes a point where all the testing, adjusting, failed attempts, and late nights finally start turning into something real.

Tonight feels like that point.

For the first time, I’m not just experimenting. I’m finally producing real products.

Business cards are running for Custom Designs by Kauffman , the engraver is working, the printer is moving, and this week there should be a steady flow of fresh pieces coming off the bench.

What starts as an idea on a screen becomes something you can hold in your hand, and that never gets old.

Still a lot to build. Still a lot to learn. But the wheels are finally turning.

Stay tuned. More coming soon 🔥🛠️🚀
