They see the results now and think it came quick.
It didn’t.
2016, my husband and I stepped into the logistics world as freight agents with more questions than answers. No blueprint handed to us. No real understanding of how big this industry actually was. Just a decision that we were going to figure it out.
And freight will humble you fast.
Call after call. Long days. Missed loads. Bad carriers. Decision makers who don’t call you back. Learning how to build relationships from scratch. Figuring out how to make money without a safety net 😮💨.
There’s no applause in the beginning of this.
Just pressure.
Somewhere in that process, Hudson Freight was built. Not overnight. Not clean. Built in real time while life was still life-ing. Marriage, kids, responsibilities, all of it.
And here’s the part nobody really talks about…
You can build something that makes money and still feel like you’re figuring yourself out at the same time.
That was us.
Fast forward to 2026, and we still in it. Still brokering freight. Still learning. Still building but now with a whole lot of skin in the game 💪🏽 .
Freight changed our lives, but not because it was easy.
Because we kept going through all the ups and downs. The past due bills, The doubts. The self sabotage moments. The moments of uncertainty.
Most people don’t even know this path exists. They’re looking at trucking, dispatching, starting businesses that require way more than what’s actually necessary to get in the game.
Being a freight agent is one of the most overlooked lanes in this industry.
And it’s real.
Real business. Real income. Real pressure but also comes with Real freedom.
If I started today, I wouldn’t move the same way I did in 2016.
I’d move faster.
I’d avoid a lot of mistakes.
And I’d get to the money quicker.
That’s exactly why I talk about it now.
If you’ve been looking into logistics, trucking, or trying to figure out where you fit in this industry…
Have you ever even considered becoming a freight agent?
