The Port of Stockton Receives National Recognition for Excellence in Security Practices.

We are proud to announce the Port of Stockton has been awarded the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) 2026 Lighthouse Award for Excellence in Security Practices – Large Port Category.

This award recognizes the Port's innovative project, “Integration of Random Anti-Terrorism Measures into Daily Port Police Operations.”

Congratulations to our Port Police team for their outstanding leadership and dedication to maritime security. This recognition is a testament to the teamwork, hard work, and unwavering commitment of all Port personnel who contribute to the Port’s mission every day.

Officer Craig and K9 Jade competed in the Lodi Police Department K9 Trial, where K9 Jade placed 2nd in the EOD Detection category.

This accomplishment reflects the dedication, consistency, and ongoing training that go into maintaining a highly skilled K9 team. Our K9 Unit continues to train to ensure they are prepared to respond when their specialized capabilities are needed to help protect our community and surrounding agencies.

Today, Officer Craig, K9 Jade, and Officer Aviles had the pleasure of visiting the preschool classes at George W. Bush Elementary School as part of Community Helpers Week!

The students learned about the important role police K9s play in helping keep our communities safe and how K9 Jade uses her incredible sense of smell to do her job. The officers answered questions, gave the students a demonstration of Jade at work, and finished the visit by reading a story about police K9s.

Thank you to George W. Bush Elementary School for inviting us to spend the morning with such a great group of students. K9 Jade loved meeting all of her new friends!

The Port of Stockton Employee Association was proud to continue our annual Teacher Wish List tradition by delivering classroom essentials to the dedicated teachers at Washington Elementary!
This helps provide educators with supplies and resources they need for their classrooms while helping ease some of the out-of-pocket costs teachers often take on throughout the school year.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to support our local educators and give back to the community we’re proud to call home.

The Port of Stockton Police Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to the California Order of the Eastern Star and Brady’s K9 Fund for their generous donation of a ballistic vest for K9 Jade.

Brady’s K9 Fund is dedicated to protecting the working K9s who protect our communities by providing lightweight, mission-ready ballistic vests that can be worn throughout their shifts. This important piece of protective equipment provides Jade with added protection while she works alongside her handler and responds to potentially dangerous situations.

As an explosive detection K9, Jade may be called upon to work in environments where safety and protection are critical. Having properly fitted ballistic protection helps ensure that she is afforded the same consideration for officer safety as the human partners working beside her.

We are incredibly grateful to the California Order of the Eastern Star for supporting Brady’s K9 Fund and helping make Jade’s vest possible. Their generosity provides more than just a piece of equipment—it provides added protection for a valued member of our department and K9 team.

It takes a team!

These transformer sets from Hyundai Electric began their journey in Masan, South Korea, where they were loaded aboard the heavy-lift vessel M.V. Houtmangracht under BBC Chartering.

Upon arrival at the Port of Stockton, it took the coordinated efforts of HLI Rail & Rigging, Heavy Transport, and Dave Ramsey Express Trucking to safely discharge, transport, and position these units in the Port's storage area.

A special thank you to SSA Marine, Bragg Heavy Haul, ILWU Local 54, and Teamsters Local 848 for another safe and efficient operation. Projects like this are only possible through strong partnerships, careful planning, experienced professionals, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
