This could be my night light…💡

Ever wonder what the green and white lights at our airport mean?

The green and white lights on the beacon represents the fact that we are an airport.

If you are familiar with the Eden hospital, they have a helipad (helicopter landing pad). If you look at the tippy top of the hospital you will see yet another beacon. That one rotated orange, green and white.

Also, if you look at the beacon pole itself, if you look real close you can see that it got a fresh coat of paint. She really shines now!

A couple of you are probably thinking, “Did Lawnman just fall off the face of the earth?” 🌍

No I didn’t, not yet at least. In the past two weeks we’ve done a lot as an airport or at least I’ve done a lot.

As an airport, we’ve been preparing for the event. Getting all of our quacks in a row.

We replaced the beacon / helipad approach lights at the UNCR heliport. (Looks a lot brighter). 🚁

We’ve gotten the beacon repainted, I’ll show that probably tomorrow.

Uh, we’ve mowed the grass? Nah I got behind on that.

We’ve got some surprises coming that I can’t speak about just yet, because they are a surprise. Duh!

As a person, I’ve been working of course, not at the airport sadly but at my real job, sucks.

I’ve been working on my CFI (certified flight instructor) so anyone who wants to learn hit me up in about a month, I got yall homies.

Just lost motivation for a little bit, had a lot going on at once. Pologies for not keeping yall updated.

I will do better! The end of this week and Labor Day holiday going to do some posting so stay tuned!

ALSO, Event NOTICE: Just learned today, we will have the NC SHP Helicopter and Mustang, this year we will also have NC Wildlife and one of their aircraft. A local thing that’s coming is RCC (That is a college). So glad to have these people showing up and supporting our “small” event!!! It’s going to be a good one.

Shiloh Airport is a gateway from far away airports for passengers to local airports for training. If you are local or far, stop on in and we can talk shop, or we can just sell you some fuel 😉.

Last night storms were a little scary in my opinion. But I thought I’d take the time out of my day to share with you what I caught.

We are 11 weeks away from the best even you’ve ever seen in RoCo!!!

Calling all Vendors!!! We are looking for local homegrown vendors / business that want to showcase their treasures, crafts, food, drinks, snacks, deserts, etc., you name it, we want you to be here! (items within reason) If you would like to join us on the event day, reach out to either of the two numbers in the bottom right hand of the flyer.

Now, if you are apart of the local community and you want to see a spectacular event in November, then you should come down to Shiloh Airport and join us for our Wings and Wheels!

Some of the items include: Airplane Rides, Helicopter Rides, Airplane Static Displays, Car Static Displays, Food Trucks, and last but not least VENDORS!!!

Why did the deer cross the runway?….

Because there was a doe waiting at the FBO. 🤣

Or or, he heard fuel was a few bucks cheaper on the other side.

If that didn’t make you laugh, he saw Runway 31 and thought it was Highway 31.

I came up with those myself….. maybe.

Also look at this picture I took of the sky and the runway and the sunset and the airplane. If you spot the airplane you get a cookie.

Views like this, is what keeps us going… ☀️

Last night I had the privilege of taking a beautiful picture with the storms in the back. To be honest, this is definitely a 10 out of 10 picture. It could be a little better but overall I like it.

Also I’m going to start a new segment called: “Name that airport”. There will be no prizes, just a pat on the back and an attaboy
