First off, thank you.
This thing only works because of you. The guys who sign up every year, the ones who bring their buddies, the ones who drive to banquet just to be in the room. We don't take that for granted.
We also want to be straight with you. We're working to make Quest better, and a lot of what's changed so far has come directly from feedback you gave us. Some of it we got right the first time. Some of it will take a bit to figure out. It doesn't all happen in one day, but we're listening, we're making changes, and we're going to keep telling you what's going on as we are able.
Now, on to business.
Price goes up October 1. Right now is the best time to get in. On the 1st it moves to $250 per person, so $500 for a two man team. If you and your buddy have been talking about running it this year, get it done this week.
State numbers come out next week. Heads up before they do: we've got quite a few teams sitting there with only one guy signed up. If that's you, get your teammate in. If you're running into any trouble getting him registered, message us and we'll help you get it straightened out.
A few other things we've been asked about:
Both of you have to be registered before either of you kills a deer. Not just you. If your teammate hasn't signed up and signed his waiver, your buck doesn't count. That's the number one thing we have to tell guys no on, and we hate that call.
Bow season is already open in some states. October 1 is the price deadline. Getting signed up before you climb a tree is the hard deadline.
Hunters that sign-up after the deadline and rank in the top 10 will be subject to a mandatory lie detector test.
Register for the state you're hunting. The deer has to be harvested in the state it's entered under. You can run teams in more than one state if you want.
24 hours from recovery to score and submit. Antlers fully intact, before caping. Can't recover it that night? Contact us by noon the next day and you get 48 hours.
Free range, fair chase. No high fence, no game farms. Legal license and tag, and you may be asked for proof of tagging.
We are pumped for this year and we appreciate your support, encouragement and patience as we seek to make Quest something that brings us together as a community.
