In 1955 Eldred and Rosella Buehrer started Buehrer Welding Supply. It was a sideline business to their dairy and farming operation selling welders and supplies out of their 80 square foot milk-house. Originally the part-time business was located near Arch
bold on a rented farm. In 1962 the business moved to its present location. At that time they diversified into a completely different product group and that was lawn and garden equipment. Simplicity was the first brand taken on and then other brands of premium products were added over the years. In January 1992 the business was incorporated and the name changed to Buehrer Power Equipment, Inc. which would better reflect the type of products offered. Over the years Buehrer's have grown in sales and size. Today they have over 14,000 square feet under roof. They employ five full-time and five part-time employees. Buehrer's are primarily known for their full line of lawnmowers. Walk-behinds, rear-engineriders, lawn tractors, garden tractors, front-mounted, four-wheel drive and commercial. Buehrer's also offer string trimmers, power blowers, chipper/vacs, tillers, chain saws, snow blowers and other product categories. Some of the premium brand names include: Exmark, Husqvarna, Simplicity, Snapper & Steiner. Service is an important part of any business and that is how Buehrer's have grown over the years. They offer parts and service for all equipment that they sell. The service technicians are trained by factory personnel. The parts department carries a large supply of parts which allows it to boast of its excellent fill rate. One of the programs offered is the ‘Down Time Guarantee’. For the homeowner, if you have a breakdown, Buehrer’s will have it up and running in 48 hours or they will provide a free loaner until it is complete.
