We’re heading into the halfway stretch of hurricane season, and we have a new guest coming to town. 🌧️

Tropical Depression 5 has officially been upgraded to Tropical Storm Edouard. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, with heavy rainfall and the potential for flash flooding being the primary concerns throughout the day.

While current forecasts indicate Edouard will only have minimal impacts for Sugar Land, conditions can change, so it’s a good time to stay weather aware and prepared.

A few reminders:
-Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown.
-Charge phones and other essential devices in case of power outages, and have flashlights and extra batteries ready.
-Secure or bring in loose outdoor items that could be moved by wind or heavy rain.
-Clear leaves and debris from storm drains around your property to help keep water flowing.
-Stay up to date with the latest forecast and weather information from the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office and local officials.

Hopefully, our guest keeps moving along, but it's a good time to keep an eye on the forecast and stay weather aware.

Stay weather aware as Tropical Storm Edouard approaches the Texas Gulf Coast.

As Fort Bend County Emergency Management continues to monitor, remember: KSGR has four FAA weather cameras providing updated views of conditions at the airport approximately every 10 minutes.

The cameras are available online and free to the public.

Fun fact: The Global Express is the largest corporate aircraft we serve, and it's unique design makes it an impressive presence on the ramp!
