Happy Memorial Day from Grand Traverse Bike Tours. β˜€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today we're grateful for the open trails, the cool breeze off the bay, and every single person who has joined us on a tour so far this season. Summer in northern Michigan is a gift β€” we don't take that lightly.

If you haven't made your plans for a Leelanau adventure yet, the season is wide open and we'd love to have you. Tours, rentals, e-bikes, and self-guided routes all available.

Here's to a great summer ahead. πŸ·πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

One of the most common questions we get: "Do I need to be a serious cyclist to do a bike tour?"

Absolutely not β€” and here's why. 🚴

Our tours are designed for riders of all levels. The Leelanau Trail is paved, relatively flat, and runs through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Midwest. Most guests cover 15–24 miles over the course of a full day, at a completely relaxed pace with plenty of stops.

We also offer pedal-assist e-bikes, which are a total game-changer if you haven't tried one. They give you a boost when you need it so you can focus on the views instead of the effort. Our support van is also on-route the entire day β€” no one gets left behind.

If you can ride a bike, you can do this tour. It's really that simple.

Helmets on the table. Grand Traverse Bay behind you. A glass of something good in your hand and the best afternoon you've had in months. This is what a stop on a GTBT tour actually looks like.

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of Northern Michigan summer β€” and there are still a handful of spots left. Don't let it pass you by.

Let's talk about what makes a great wine pour even better: earning it. 🍷

When you bike to a tasting, the whole experience shifts. You've spent the last hour in fresh air, moving through beautiful countryside, and then you roll up to a place like Shady Lane Cellars and someone pours you something cold and exceptional. It just hits different.

This is actually backed by science β€” physical activity increases dopamine and sharpens sensory perception, meaning you genuinely taste wine better after a bike ride than you would sitting in a car. Not that we needed an excuse.

What's your go-to white wine for a warm afternoon? Drop it below. πŸ₯‚

Your girls' trip is overdue and you know it. πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ·

This is your sign to finally book it β€” a full day on the Leelanau Wine Trail with your people. Our local experts handle everything: the route, the winery stops, the packed lunch overlooking the vineyards, and the support van if anyone needs a break. You just show up and have the best day.

We have openings this Memorial Day weekend and weekends through June.

Here's something most people don't realize about the Leelanau Peninsula: those aren't just vineyards you're riding past β€” they're cherry orchards too. πŸ’

The Grand Traverse region produces nearly 75% of the tart cherries grown in the United States. And the same geography that makes the cherries world-class β€” the moderating influence of Lake Michigan, the well-drained glacial soils, the rolling hills β€” is exactly what makes the wine here so good too.

On our tours, you're literally pedaling through one of the most agriculturally productive and scenically stunning landscapes in the entire Midwest.

Spots available this weekend. πŸ”— grandtraversebiketours.com

This is why May on the Leelanau Peninsula is something special. 🌸 The cherry orchards are in full bloom right now, and riding through them is honestly one of the most beautiful things you'll ever do on two wheels. Every pedal stroke smells like spring.

The blossoms don't last long, usually just a couple of weeks, so now is truly the time. Have you ever seen the cherry trees in bloom up here? Drop a 🌸 below if you have, or tag someone who needs to experience this.

Park the car. Ditch the itinerary. Let the e-bike do the climbing. πŸš΅β€β™€οΈπŸ·

Our E-Bike the Vines Tour is hands-down the most fun way to experience Leelanau Wine Country β€” and we may be slightly biased, but our guests agree.

Here's what's included:
βœ… Pedal-assist e-bikes (the hills literally disappear)
βœ… Winery stops including Blackstar Farms, Shady Lane Cellars, L.Mawby & More!
βœ… Locally made picnic lunch with vineyard views
βœ… Wine pick-up service β€” we carry your bottles so you ride worry-free
βœ… Expert local guide (or fully supported self-guided option)

Meet the 17-mile ribbon of pavement that makes our tours possible. 🌲

The Leelanau Trail β€” part of the TART Trails network β€” runs from Traverse City north through the heart of wine country, passing through shaded forest corridors, open farmland, and rolling hills with glimpses of the bay.

A few things that make it special:
β†’ Fully paved and car-free for most of its length
β†’ Connects easily to several wineries along the route
β†’ Gorgeous in every season (yes, we've ridden it in the snow)
β†’ Accessible to cyclists of all abilities

No experience needed β€” our e-bikes flatten out the hills and our support van has your back every mile of the way.

Have you ridden the Leelanau Trail before? 🚴
